I don’t remember him being this stiff before. It’s like being captain made him think he had to be sensible on camera but he’s coming across like a man in his 50s.

What do we all think of the new Stew, Jamie and the stuff with Culver? I’m in two minds tbh, yes they’re both single but Culver definitely had a thing, albeit not a strong thing, with Tzarina and she definitely had feelings for him so I feel he’s shit on her a bit and I feel that Jamie set her cap at him and ignored girl code. The way Culver seems more concerned about not getting fed than he does about Tzarina’s feelings is a bit mean too, and Culver and Jamie aren’t exactly discreet when around Tzarina.

I think the Culver & Jamie thing was a bit out of order but on the other hand was anything ever going to happen with Culver & Tzarina?

I think Culver and Jamie is just very physical vs the endearing way he was with Tzarina.

I’m not really liking him this season. He’s shit at work and would be better as an 18-30s rep. I feel like he’s auditioning for Summer House.

Jamie didn’t even test the water, she just jumped right in. However I think if I was Tzarina’s friend, watching her with Joao would piss me off so she can’t really complain about girl code. It seems very much on the cards that they will hook up although I hope she can stop herself.

PS I hate girl code/bro code stuff. You should be respectful no matter the gender but equally you don’t owe people stuff just because you’re the same gender.

I love the relationship between Aesha and Captain Jason, there’s so much mutual respect and friendship between them, it’s really nice to see.

I liked culver last season I seem to remember. But he's become a bit of caricature of himself. And certainly thinking more with his dick. That whole got to think of who's cooking my meals thing is a bit grim

I'm not surprised he's a bit lazy but then why wasn't that picked up last season. Maybe because the bosun was really bad last year.

I don't know much about Jamiee. She's better than Laura from what I've seen.

He had a dip at the end but definitely seemed more hard working last season. This season when he was in charge it looked awful. Granted that could be the edit but still the thing with the crane was rubbish too.

Culver is just annoying now lol. The fact that he’s making me side with Joao is another reason he annoys me!

I don’t buy Joao’s version of his relationship with Tzarina’s friend at all.

I didn’t like making them wear budgie smugglers when cap was clearly uncomfortable with it but then I don’t get that sort of objectification anyway. I would run away from a stripper petrified.

What a cliff hanger ending though. I’m assuming he’s ok because they wouldn’t do that if he wasn’t as it wouldn’t be sensitive to his family.

I adore aesha - her accent is gorgeous.

Joao was in a previous Below Deck Med season (sorry, I can’t remember which one but Kate Chastain was the Chief Stew, so season 4 maybe) and he was a misogynist who was also a bit of a bully and developed a laddish culture within the deck crew. He appeared again in a later season where he hadn’t really changed, tbh, in this season of Below Deck, I think he has changed slightly, he’s certainly got the measure of Culver, who is coming across as entitled and lazy and there’s clearly no respect from him for Joao.
