Neighbours on Channel 5 just isn't the same - it looks common.

Neighbours on channel 5 looks different - kind of duller and tacky and looks more like Home and Away. Also the adverts are in mental places - like halfway through a conversation etc. Anyone else noticed this? Or has it always been crap but suddenly the veil has been lifted?

wshen the feck is it on? I keep missing it!

Jenkeywoo · 13/02/2008 23:21

5.30pm - am watching it on sky+, there can't be many sad feckers watching Neighbours at this time of night!

Ledodgy · 13/02/2008 23:22

is it not on in the afternoon anymore?

PurplePillow · 13/02/2008 23:24

Yes its on at 1-45 then repeated at 5-30

Carmenere · 13/02/2008 23:26

It is common, no matter where it is on.

RTKangaDYSONMummy · 14/02/2008 12:32

It is also repeated @ 7pm

And a omnibus on weekend

The adbverts are really annoying me

they miss out whole scenes

like the other day they had rosie walking into the door of cafe and then adverts and then whole new scene

Am hoping the omnibus will be different

SheikYerbouti · 14/02/2008 12:50

I hate it

I can't gety into watching it on 5.

Jenkeywoo · 14/02/2008 14:25

RTKanga- I noticed that too, Rosie walked in, opened her mouth to talk and then it went to adverts. It's so annoying. Repeat after me - DON'T mess with Neighbours.

It would be ok if they replayed the scene after the adverts but it wasn't there

scoopmuckanddizzy · 14/02/2008 14:32

I can't get in to it,I turned it off this afternoon.

Usually I have my lunch and watch neighbours because that's when dd has her afternoon nap.

Channel 5 has ruined nap time, now I'll have to find something productive to do

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 14/02/2008 14:49

YES! Totally, it's really weird. It's like they are shooting reality tv rather than the fuzzy focused neighbours we are used to . Also what the heck is with the Pepper story line, suddenly she and be-muscled british bloke are leaving, just like that?!! EH??

Beauregard · 14/02/2008 14:51

Get Neighbours off
Get Neightbours off
Get Neighbours off

I am now unable to watch Home and Awayas Neighbours has altered all the time lots GGRRR

coppertop · 14/02/2008 14:55

I was just about to ask about the Pepper story. I thought she was going to visit her dad but from today's episode it looks as though she's off for good. Did I miss something?

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 14/02/2008 15:39

Apparently she was offered a job 'up north' and she's taken it. No explanation, completely unrealistic considering the hoo haa story line of her getting together with british bloke (suddenly she's willing to leave him for a job) ...basically standard neighbours fare.

MrsMattie · 14/02/2008 15:41

You're all common for even watching Neighbours

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 14/02/2008 15:47

Who put a bee up your bum today Mrs M...you're in a feisty mood

purpleturtle · 14/02/2008 15:52

I tuned in yesterday lunchtime, and as soon as the adverts came on I switched to Doctors. Just can't be doing with it.

In Australia they manage to fit no fewer than 3 ad breaks into a single episode of Neighbours, inc. one between the cliffhanger ending and the credits.

I may actually be cured of my Neighbours habit. Just Doctors left.

MrsMattie · 14/02/2008 15:58

I'm having a 'Oh FFS!' day today@DANCE. It's quite enjoyable. No lenghty, well thought out posts. Just wade in there and call it like ya see it. Liberating!

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 14/02/2008 16:03

So basically being Cod eh? Can you spell HERO WORSHIP

MrsMattie · 14/02/2008 16:13

I don't think Cod invented 'being an Obnoxious Bitch', though, did she?@DANCE

Also, what other response is there to the ponce-a-rama of sugar free cakes, newbie vs oldie and Mancs with southern accents that is MN today? 'Oh, FFS' is a brilliant repsonse I think ;-)

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 14/02/2008 16:16

Agreed. Have a look on the valentines for children thread. A good FFS needed there I think, although they are all being jolly good eggs about the whole thing.

Not sure about COD's monopoly on Ob Bitch....think a few other people have it nailed too just saw you on other thread so couldn't resist. BTW what is with the @s everywhere?!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 14/02/2008 16:18

i saw on the beeb website that they are planning to commission a new aussie soap based in sydney. WHY????

DualCycloneCod · 14/02/2008 16:23

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 14/02/2008 16:25
