Got Disney+ for a month, what's worth watching?

Any suggestions welcome, before it expires, please.

DS is watching Prison Break now that it's not available on Netflix.

I am overwhelmed by the choice, and like most streaming services, I would spend more time trying to pick something to watch than actually watching it!

Recent series I've watched are; You, The Watcher, but while they were engaging to begin with, they got a bit silly at the end.

I like Stranger Things and do tend to watch the odd 80s classic from time to time.

I've seen most of the American Horror Story series up to Apocalypse, which is season 9, but heard the latter series are not as good. Watched an episode of American Horror Stories with Alicia Silverstone in it, called Lake. It was okay but I was put off by the poor acting.

The Orville

Watchers getting a second season…

Only murders in the building, mandolorian, Loki, Dopesick

Fadeintoyou · 01/04/2023 17:57

Dopesick is definitely worth watching, Michael Keatons performance is fantastic. Just started Extraordinary which is very good so far, interesting premise and a warm set of characters.

Stardustkid · 01/04/2023 17:59

Wandavision, Hidden Figures, West side Story

ohfourfoxache · 01/04/2023 18:00

Hamilton 😍

Andor

even if you have never been a Star Wars fan, I recommend you watch Andor. It is about life under a creeping totalitarian regime and the complicated choices people make in response.

No idea what your tastes are but most recently watched -

Tell me Lies - soapy college saga about relationships/ friendships

Finding Matthew - Spencer Matthews looking for his brothers body on Everest. Genuinely interesting for me as I knew nothing about Everest and the various lethal dangers you face to climb it ( I know that sounds stupid!)

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/04/2023 18:02

The Dropout

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 01/04/2023 18:03

Should add the kids love it but I prefer Netflix ( an age issue)

Also yes to Hamilton and West Side Story

Extraordinary is fabulous and hilarious.

Station 19

Thanks for the replies.

Mandalorian is on the family watch list already.

I will have a read up on Dopesick, since that's been mentioned a few times.

I had read about the Finding Michael documentary, which I'm intrigued about, so I might give that a go.

Dopesick is really really good.
Fleischman is in trouble - it's an 8 parter so you could do it in a month, unlike all 19 seasons of Greys Anatomy! Quite thoughtful with good writing, and Claire Danes is amazing in it.
The movie Hidden Figures is great, and not available free elsewhere I don't think.

YoureOnMute · 01/04/2023 18:45

Candy is excellent - 5 part drama with Jessica Biel. It's based on the story of a woman who was accused of murdering her friend.

redbigbananafeet · 01/04/2023 18:46

Modern Family!

mummabubs · 01/04/2023 18:46

Finding Michael was a thought-provoking doc (I'm not a fan of Spencer but still found it engaging).

Another vote for Hamilton. I thought it really wouldn't be for me, watched it and have subsequently booked tickets for me and DH to see it in London, it's really good!

We are a Bluey household so use it for that a lot.

Other than that I like using it for nostalgic series from my teenage years like Buffy 😅

Severance is on Apple

Only Murders in the Building is brilliant.

Dopesick is heartbreaking.

Hamilton is worth watching because you can turn on the subtitles ( if you can find them, always an issue with Disney I find) and enjoy the lyrics.

When you go to Hamilton pop into the Palm Tree bar opposite! They do food too.
