Ghosts: The final series

S5 is a wrap. 😢

One if the best comedy shows around. Looking forward to the next season and dreading the final season.

I just hope the Beeb or another channel realise how much a primetime comedy series that can be enjoyed by older children and adults is needed.

It really does fill a gap and its lovely to bond with DD9 over it.

I'll be sad to see it go, but I know that they can't keep on and on. It's such a great family show.
Hopefully they'll have other ventures up their sleeves.

Oh that's such a shame. We all love Ghosts. I really hope they don't all get sucked off in the last episode and leave it open for a future return.

I hope it has a proper ending, even if it's just 5 minutes at the end of the last episode of them all around Mike's death bed and him finally getting to see them before he dies.

These are my possibilities:

  • They'll all get sucked off during the night and Alison will wake to realise they're not there.
  • Alison will have another accident and no longer be able to see them, she and Mike will move as Button House won't feel the same or she slowly forgets over time.
  • Alison and Mike end up having a baby who can also see them and they'll be happy ever after.
  • Mike (or Alison and Mike) has a fatal accident and becomes one of the ghosts and they all continue to live in Button House

Whatever happens, I know I will cry; I bloody love Ghosts

The baby scenario is the one me and DH have already discussed. I hope they do it. I'd hate for Mike to die!

We absolutely loved the first and second seasons of Ghosts. It was very original and we used to laugh out loud. Sadly, the last couple of seasons seem to have lost their spark and it's just an occasional smile now instead of laughter. It feels very much like all the jokes have been exhausted and the writers are going over old ground. That said, we still watch and enjoy but now is definitely time for the series to end.

Posted a big post on the wrong thread earlier (!!🤣)
But similar to what you are all saying.
They need to do a Christmas special and Alison is pregnant.haxbaby and loses her seeing ghosts powers.
Baby bangs their head on something ..( nothing nasty..a rattle /toy whack or something)

And then laughs and gurgles into something not there ...but actually ...the ghosts are cooking over baby and making it laugh !!

DH thinks Mike may die. I’m going to have to watch the final episode on my own with a box of tissues and no one in the house to hear my proper sobs.

There are already 4 series aren’t there? So they wrapped filming on series 5 and we’ll see it later this year.

Ahh, I love this programme, I’ll be so sorry to see it end.
But better to go out on a high than drag on and on until it loses its sharpness.

I kind of like the idea of them all being sucked off one night and Alison wakes up to find them gone. I might shed a tear, whatever the outcome.
