That's what I loved about Classic Corrie... revisiting Percy and Phyllis.

Percy was Mrs Bishops lodger. A sort of Norris busybody. Phyllis pursued him relentlessly.
Nowadays Phyllis would have murdered him in the ginnel.

Percy was great, remember the man who liked Phylis who had a dog in his bag

Also Mona, Maureen's mother

After he tried to stop her robbing the bistro

I grew up in area surrounded by streets just like Corrie. Every street had a Phylis, an Elsie Tanner and an Emily Bishop.

My parents had a friend called Emily who was a bit of an Elsie Tanner. She had a very long affair with a police man . Very scandalous in 1970s Northern Ireland.
The classic series are getting a bit dark now.

Whereas characters like the local serial killer and local racist terrorist are a bit more thin on the ground

Anyone else tired of episodes being introduced with
"contains scenes some viewers may find upsetting"
Its supposed to be light entertainment!

I love how Tim drops Busta Bloodvessel into conversation from time to time but never actually listens to any music. Apart from the occasional blast of Sally Cinnamon when his marriage hits the skids 🤣

Gemma's had an easy time of learning her lines for weeks now:

'Oh thank you!'

I love the way Chesney was ironing and Gemma on her iPad and the quads sit there demurely not wanting any interaction

Yes she was horrible to Percy, she barely tolerated him poor man, watching it on Classic was quite painful, she’s not particularly nice to Norris either but Percy was a different league.
