New and shiny, all for you 🙂

OP posts:
MrsKHunt · 10/04/2023 12:51

I agree @Helendegenerate , they've painted themselves into a corner with the miss mash of characters along with the complete fiasco of who lives where, houses seem to miraculously stretch when it comes to the bedrooms

Mollypolly2610 · 10/04/2023 12:54

I'm glad Craig's OCD disappeared

MrsKHunt · 10/04/2023 12:54

And where's kens other son who crawled out of the wood work years ago , Lionel was it? He was played by his son in real life, he's never mentioned

Viviennemary · 10/04/2023 12:56

I like the Roy type of characters. George is good also Brian. Worst one Summer by miles. Please go away to Uni then emigrate. Used to like Gemma but she has become a bit of a pain.

Deadringer · 10/04/2023 12:49

I actually think we need more characters, not less. Just doing normal stuff, going for interviews, dreading the dentist, begin stood up or ghosted, dc starting school and maybe facing toxic mums in the schoolyard. It might not be exciting but there is drama and humour in every day things and I would really like to see more of that.

I completely agree @Deadringer - there is so much that goes on within the mundane, that good writers could make into great storylines.

eggandonion · 10/04/2023 14:05

Ive just been rewatching Mum. Characters like that family, Motherland,Gavin and Stacey often aren't doing very much. But real life is like that. What to put in an omelette is much more realistic than a sink hole that vanishes.
I really watch from habit.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/04/2023 15:47

Talking about unmentioned characters. Has Sarah forgotten that shes got a daughter. I've never heard her mention Bethany once since she's been gone.

Viviennemary · 10/04/2023 15:50

No Bethany is never mentioned. Another character I was glad to see the back of. She looked about ten years older than Sarah. Really silly. Didnt know Ken had a son called Lionel.

eggandonion · 10/04/2023 16:28

Ken has huge numbers of sons but Tracey luv is his only daughter. Sadly I am old enough to remember her dad Ray Langton. He were a rotter.
At one point all of my adult kids lived a couple of hundred miles away but they came home for occasional weekends or rang up with crises. People i knows with kids abroad face time them.

DahliaMacNamara · 10/04/2023 16:28

I want to say Linus?
Can't remember the context of his Coronation Street role, and I'll get bombarded with spoilers if I Google it.

eggandonion · 10/04/2023 16:30

Didn't the grandson steal money from a day centre or something. Possibly involving Sophie in her religious phase?

Snoredoeurve · 10/04/2023 16:53

I think Paul, Gemma, Summer and BillyPrayerHands 😂 need to go.
Along with Stephen .
Suddenly Sarah-Lou mentioned THE GARDEN so the invisible children can do an Easter egg hunt .
Does this mean one will fall in the sink hole and DeadLeo will be found?

Bring back Jason and his workmans boots 😍

Deadringer · 10/04/2023 16:55

Yes Linus (real name) was Ken's long lost son (and his real life son) and his son, Ken's grandson (but actually his younger real life son) scammed Kevin Webster (via Sophie) out of a massive amount of money, then pissed off.

Deadringer · 10/04/2023 16:58

Isn't it a shame that the ghastly Stephen wasn't the one to develop MND, it would have been much more interesting. He would probably really go to town scamming and killing people knowing that he has limited time left. His family could have rallied around him then found out he was a monster after his death.

Lorrymum · 10/04/2023 17:18

Tracey's real dad was Ray Langton.
I am so old!

eggandonion · 10/04/2023 17:32

Ray had lovely glossy hair and a lot of double denim. Did he go off with a tall woman from the cafe. Possibly in Alma days. Certainly before Roy.

Heliotroper · 10/04/2023 18:21

Ken found a letter down the back of radiator telling him he had another son - Lawrence who had a son called James.

Pseudonamed · 10/04/2023 18:34

How Kens knob has not fallen off I do not know.

Heliotroper · 10/04/2023 18:35

Nick and Steve also discovered long lost kids born to resourceful mothers who never needed to claim a penny in maintenance.

Any more?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/04/2023 18:47

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

woodhill · 10/04/2023 20:04

Harry has finally appeared

FlibbertyGibbitt · 10/04/2023 20:09

Is that new woman a scammer 🤔 ?

MrsKHunt · 10/04/2023 20:19

@Heliotroper I dont remember the letter I just thought it was a bit of a random story line at the time
What were Nick/Steve's forgotten children called?
As a btb I had a trouser suit similar to what Sarah-lou is wearing tonight back in the 90's Grin

Snoredoeurve · 10/04/2023 20:30

woodhill · 10/04/2023 20:04

Harry has finally appeared

He's meant to be 7 but looks about 4

Spidey66 · 10/04/2023 20:42

So don’t tell me Sarah gets pregnant and doesn’t know who the dad is? I don’t judge people for having a ONS but why does no one in soapland use condoms when having one?

I can’t remember the name of Ken’s son/grandson but I don’t think the character was called Linus. He was played by William Roaches real life son Linus Roache, who was the spit of him.
