Nearly 30 years old. Anyway, the reason I'm posting is that the woman singing "Can't smile without you" at Angus and Laura's wedding was Nicola Walker!

Yes I spotted this too, when we rewatched with dc over Xmas? I nearly elbowed dh off the sofa 👀👀👀look! It's her off the split!!!!

MandyMotherOfBrian · 11/03/2023 22:48

Frightful Folk Duo - 😂

Autienotnautie · 11/03/2023 23:00

I'd never have realised that! Such a good film.

Barnstormaway787 · 11/03/2023 23:04

The funny thing was we actually attended a wedding with a Frightful Folk Duo just after the film was released 😆

Southstand · 11/03/2023 23:06

I'm watching now and was happy to see she from The Split! I'm enjoying it!

LesserBohemians · 11/03/2023 23:11

I noticed this when she was still cool Ruth in Spooks.

Southstand · 11/03/2023 23:11

Lydia makes a ravishing bride doesn't she!

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 11/03/2023 23:12

This is one of my ultimate comfort films. Hugh Grant looks like a mere foetus.

tinselandjoy · 11/03/2023 23:17

Laura from Angus and Laura's wedding is the actress who plays Queen Thistle in Ben and Holly too!

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 11/03/2023 23:20

Carrie's fiancé is long dead now Sad

Is she the one from the Philadelphia adverts??

Enthrallingstoryofstillnessandlight · 11/03/2023 23:23

Charlotte 😪

Southstand · 11/03/2023 23:31

I know, only 33 when she died. 💐

Fizbosshoes · 11/03/2023 23:32

London looks so different without the gherkin and the shard etc

DH and I were at Highgate cemetery last weekend and I spotted Corin Redgrave's headstone. Hadn't realised he'd died and quite a while ago too. Sad

Capricornandproud · 11/03/2023 23:38

God yes! Her from Last Tango in Halifax? What a cast… great time for british films. Notting Hill, Sliding Doors…

BeginningToLookALotLike · 11/03/2023 23:39

I once went to see Corin Redgrave as King Lear. He was brilliant. Such a wealth of acting talent in Four Weddings.

WeAreTheHeroes · 11/03/2023 23:45

David Haig hasn't aged a day.

Charlotte Coleman will always be Marmalade Atkins to me 💔

VivaDixie · 11/03/2023 23:51

Me too. I used to love that programme as a child. I wanted to be Marmalade

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 11/03/2023 23:54

WeAreTheHeroes · 11/03/2023 23:45

David Haig hasn't aged a day.

He really hasn't.

James Fleet/Tom doesn't look that much different now either, and google tells me he's 71 (!) now.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 11/03/2023 23:55

Kristin Scott Thomas looks ravishing in the scene where she tells Charles she's in love with him.

SnuggleBuggleBoo · 12/03/2023 00:05

I'm confused by the bit where the morning after their shag fest, when Carrie has been winding Charles up about getting married and then she suddenly cools off and goes all 'I think we missed a great opportunity here' and that's just it. They seem to have had a good time, clearly fancy each other, why end things there?

WeAreTheHeroes · 12/03/2023 00:08

Because she was already engaged to Hamish and bloody Charles hadn't got his act together?

I need to rewatch it! I thought that she said that after the night they spent together at the Boatman or whatever it was called, after the first wedding? She surely wasn't engaged then?
