I was so busy staring up his sleeves, i didnt notice the rest of his attire.. i fear this will be a reoccurring event with every male until Christmas|!

Jean and her bloody phone really annoyed me in this episode!

There's got to be a pertinent reason as to why it took up so much airtime. Maybe her constant video or photos accidentally captured something very relevant with Suki and Eve?

She's annoying in every episode!

Good point about her catching something important. Might not be Suki and Eve but there must be something.

Just seen Fridays. Img. Was beautifully acted and shown.

Thinking of all those who have lost babies - I've several friends who have gone through similar and heart breaking 💐💐

I was surprised they showed Whitney in pain like that tbh. It was very emotional and the actors did the scenes credit , but maybe less is more

Definitely less is more. Before my son died I thought it was going to be like a scene from Eastenders (I was young and not very wordly wise 😳) but it really wasn't. There are so many things in soaps and dramas that are hammed up to get the most out of the storyline, but they could be so much better if they were a bit more understated.

Jellykat · 06/03/2023 20:01

Aww Zacks opened up his heart and fallen for Whit... so wish theyd stick together after going through this.

Bunionbabe · 06/03/2023 20:07

Perhaps I'm a hard hearted cynic, but I think the storyline is bordering on the mawkish now. Whit had an unviable 18 week pregnancy so took the only realistic option. In reality she is an unmarried young woman with no realistic partner, living a precarious lifestyle making a living of sorts and living in a shared house. It's hard to see how motherhood would have been the pink and rosy dream she visualised.

lazymum99 · 06/03/2023 20:14

Who the hell goes to sit on a public bench with a take away drink directly after what they’ve been through.
I have actually had enough of this storyline now.

Bunionbabe · 06/03/2023 20:20

Still, there's baby happiness to come for the Square residents when 12 year old child mum Lily delivers her bundle of joy!

Mrsjayy · 06/03/2023 20:30

After praising the writers and acting on Friday, tonight's was absolute load of morbid rubbish and unnecessary it looked like Whitnry was just done and wanted to go home !

Mrsjayy · 06/03/2023 20:31

A bit like us I think!

lazymum99 · 06/03/2023 20:48

I don't want to upset anyone but I’ll go for it. I found that episode boring. The previous one was very moving but this one just dragged it out

Mrsjayy · 06/03/2023 20:56

Yes they did and I've no personal experience as I've said, but I don't think they would have especially Whitney the emotional energy to talk about their baby like that,"a whole life mapped out" seemed over the top.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 06/03/2023 21:51

Agreed with the view now that they’re dragging out and overdramatising Whitney/Zak’s story.

I’m wondering what an ex best friend’s daughter who’s gone through similar experience would make of this.

I did like the nurse being honest/candid about her own situation and everyone not knowing what to write in the sympathy cards and Vi’s and Callum’s sympathy/upset.

the80sweregreat · 06/03/2023 22:25

Harvey said the kind of thing people might say because they feel awkward and it comes out wrong. I thought that was well done as often people do put their foot in it without meaning to be malicious.

Mrsjayy · 06/03/2023 22:40

Maybe I'm just cynical or ignorant but it just felt ott and they ruined it !

iknowimcoming · 06/03/2023 23:57

Agree - particularly the scenes in the hospital prayer room with the 'geezer' dad who turned into a grief/relationship counsellor in 5 minutes flat - so cringey!

EconomyClassRockstar · 07/03/2023 00:18

I really don't get the Suki Nish storyline. It makes no sense at all. She has spent years being this crazy matriarch who would happily see her own kids go to jail if it suited her plans and now we're expected to believe that this guy has come out of jail and she's all "Yes sir, no sir" trying to keep the peace?!

I agree that the geezer in the chapel was stupid as shit but I did like the midwife who'd been through it. I now am 100% on Team Whit and Zach and if the writers don't make that happen, I'm going to hold a single woman protest outside the BBC. Nobody's lives are as sad as Whitney's! GIVE THE WOMAN SOME HAPPINESS!!!

gingercat02 · 07/03/2023 07:50

I am fortunate enough to never had to deal with baby loss but a friend had a baby die at 20 weeks so have a little experience. It's grim and so sad but I do think they are being a bit ghoulish about Whit and Zac.

Why did everyone have the same card. How weird would that be sitting in your living room.

gingercat02 · 07/03/2023 07:53

Suki and Nish is extreme but perhaps they are trying to show how controlled by him she is. Playing the good Sikh wife and being frightened of him when he's there and being her natural (awful) self when he was in prison

SoupDragon · 07/03/2023 07:56

Suki has just reverted to how it was before Nish was put in prison. He was a controlling, abusive man then and he still is. When he was imprisoned, she had to be strong and raise her family alone. Now he's back and it's all come back again. She's scared of him. I don't think being attacked by Ranveer has helped.

Bunionbabe · 07/03/2023 08:18

Whit won't find any peace or contentment until she is able to stop bouncing around from one useless/abusive relationship to another. How did she think having a drunken one night stand with ego-on-legs Zac and 'accidently' getting pregnant would have a happy outcome?
