Jack looks like his lost weight to me.
His never been big, but I think he looks a bit gaunt lately

I shall miss the supportive friendship between Sam and Zack.

Honey's line to Phil about him being too busy washing his hair...

I thought she was brilliant in that whole speech to Phil and really put him in his place 👏

This doesn't make any sense to me though. It wasn't that long ago that Sam turned down another chance of love with her ex Ricky because he lived in Germany and she didn't want to leave her son Ricky, as he was about to become a father at 12 yo.

But now, all of a sudden she's happy to swan off to Spain for a work opportunity? No excuse to moan about being lonely and single then!

Plus where the hell is Billy? He's been 'working in Turkey' for ages now. Or was that Martin? Lola could die any day and he wouldn't be here ffs!

JMSA · 14/04/2023 08:49

Agree re Honey. I was really cheering her on!

Mrsjayy · 14/04/2023 09:07

Tbf I think Sam thought she would be settling with Ricky, she can be lonely and not want to settle for her ex husband.

Billy is in Portugal working on something with Grant. I'm assuming James Bye? Did the strictly tour because he's been away ages.

lazymum99 · 14/04/2023 09:15

Martin is there. Not away. He made a really funny comment about Sonia giving birth on the sofa.
Its good to have a supportive family but where the hell are they going with a 12 year old celebrating her pregnancy like this. Are they just going to live happy ever after with all the grandparents stepping in and lovely holidays to Spain.

Mrsjayy · 14/04/2023 09:17

Is Martin back ? Honest I do watch it 😃

Mrsjayy · 14/04/2023 09:19

The 12 year old parents story is just getting absurd.

Oh yes GrinAnd the bit about the party for friends "and family" looking at Phil you are not friends catergory Philth

Though she's getting on my wick with her lovebombing Sam, she's very intense (or interfereing)

Classic Eastenders Martin is a nasty piece of work , he must've have a Personality Transplant with his New Head !

The whole Lily/Ricky /Baby story is getting a bit meh .
I could almost see Ricky's mind whirring that he'd have to leave 6th Form early to pick his child up from school

It always was absurd! Not seen last nights episode these days but it’s all a bit of a mess there!

Ceryneianhind · 14/04/2023 10:13

re the pg 12 year old, i guess what else can they do - they have been through the angst and the abortion talk and Lily wants to have the baby (even though at 12 what clue does she have?)

They have a new life coming, and yeah its shit that she is so young, but she now needs to feel the decision she has made is the right one, and that means treating her like any other expectant mother?

I dont know ?

Southeastdweller · 14/04/2023 10:16

I think it’s a wrong message to send out. There’s nothing to celebrate about a 12 year old having a baby.

So what would you have them do? (just asking, not goady honest)

Send her away to the country in shame?

I agree it's a terrible story but what are they supposed to do they Can't force her to her to give up the baby. They don't want to shame Lilly and she wanted a party.again a terrible storyline.

Not have parties for a start. And the odd mention that it’s going to be really hard for her. The writers haven’t thought this story through at all. I was cringing this week when Sam was saying to Ricky she’s going to be a great grandmother to the baby.

The trouble is, you dont want Lily to feel bad - shes going through enough

I dont know what the answer is

qazxc · 14/04/2023 11:00

I don't think they should be shaming Lily and Ricky but they should be being realistic with them and discussing how they plan to cope with birth and beyond.
I would imagine that the pregnancy is high risk as Lily's body isn't fully developed for example. Will Lily need a C section? Will her recovery be longer and will she need more support while she recovers? How much school will she miss? How will she catch up?
How are they going to balance education and child rearing? Ricky says that he is going to be the "best dad" but what does that mean for him?
Children are only babies for a short time, what are they going to do when the child is a toddler and beyond?
What are Lily's and Ricky's long term plans regarding education and careers? How are these achievable?
What supports can they get? Should a social worker be involved? Should they go on a parenting course?

But instead it seems that people are putting on rose coloured spectacles and ignoring the realities instead of preparing for them or discussing them.

Isnt that what soaps do best?

Southeastdweller · 14/04/2023 11:26

EE has proved time and time again that they can do issue stories sensitively, powerfully and realistically, but they’ve messed up in this instance.

Ceryneianhind · 14/04/2023 11:30

maybe they are playing the long game?
