Do you think the actor makes his living just from being Shrimpy?

Interesting question there about the ' bit actors'
They probably do have other jobs I would imagine? Plus he doesn't speak at all , so on less money I believe? They must have to earn money in normal jobs?

Obviously for the main actors they are exclusive to the soap aren't they, so they can't also play another part in something else whilst they are in the soap because they need to be 100% recognisable as sam mitchell or whoever.
I guess most extras or supporting artists can probably be in multiple things, but I wonder about the likes of Shrimpy and Tracey who are recognisable as their characters....maybe they get a bit more to keep them from also taking other acting roles?
I mean I could probably Google this, but I've often wondered if its enough to live on.
I've no idea how much the main actors get paid though either.

Perhaps Tracey needs a night with Shrimpy to knock Phil off the top spot.

In a way I'd like Tracey and Shrimpy to be proper characters now. Would be interesting after all of these years. Although Shrimpy looks like his wardrobe hasn't been changed since the year 2005. Give it another 5 years and early 00's indie fashion might be back in. Perhaps it is easier to wait now.

We are used to seeing some extras in the backgrounds , but the best ones are when they are on location or in a church or something and you suddenly see all these different people.
When Jean was in her wedding dress in southend last year the people around were so funny or had a few stilted lines to say ! Makes you realize how good the real actors are.

The actors who play Sharon and Phil are millionaires ( according to the papers )
It's still probably small fry compared to Hollywood actors, but not bad for doing a job you love !

I wish I could watch EE without thinking about how almost none of them could actually be making a decent wage, far less owning terraced stone houses on a London square full of amenities -shop, laundrette, pub, Tube station, green space, market, nightclub, gay bar, Indian restaurant, chippy, fast food shop, gym, taxi rank, hair and beauty salon, undertaker, garage, all within 100m of your front door.

It wpuld have been nice to see scenes of Lexie and Kathy making the quilt

This as well as none of them having access to benefits when they definitely would qualify (and so wouldn't be so short of money all the time!)

A few of them are fairly wealthy : Phil , Jack , the Panesars. Ian had money and Kathy lives in his house : Sonia is wealthy now she owns a house. The slaters have had some help recently from Kat and Phil and ( historically ) Jean via the late Daniel leaving her enough money for six months rent. (I know this was a while ago. )
Many have lived in their homes for many years and watched its value go up a lot.
I don't understand why the Slaters don't claim any in work benefits or have enough money , but they should do really. Although Lily's dad Ryan cutting his support and the burger bar being burgled hasn't helped ( plus Stacey getting loans ) but they should try and get a grip on their finances as they all work.

It's the killed puppy look that gets me. He constantly looks like Whitney has just slaughtered a whole litter ATM.

Both of them, W and Z, are getting on my nerves now. I guess Shrimp is on contract pay rates, Peach Tree only gets a one off appearance fee.
