Honestly Rochelle was bitter about not being PM and decided to go through with malicious compliance.

Don’t get me wrong, Avi was also at fault for the dye - he was acting like a child mixing that colour. He deserved to be fired. I just think Rochelle thought “fuck it” and let the train crash. Unfortunately by doing that, she’s typecasted herself as the next to be fired.

Annamariefl · 03/03/2023 07:07

When the market research group slated the product the camera lingered on Rochelle’s smug smirk. I didn’t rate Avi but Rochelle should have gone this time.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 03/03/2023 07:39

This task was always going to be about the brand and packaging. No one was going to conduct a 30 day test on the product to see if it made their skin better. The product only ever had to be acceptable. The other team got that; the error with the snake oil was trying to make it distinctive.

However, even if they'd come up with an acceptably bland and generic lotion like the others, the packaging was never going to work. The only way they could have sold it was as a novelty Halloween product or something.

It's always the case on The Apprentice that when someone says 'the over-50s' the team hears 'the over-90s'. Don't they realise that people 50 + are, you know, working people like they are, not people who potter round looking for places to store their paperclips.

Yet another case of the winning team being less crap rather than actually being much good.

burnoutbabe · 03/03/2023 07:58

It's a shame as the brief was to produce something new and different

Yet the winning team just produced a bland Nivea type box.

Least venom was different (and I have body scrubs from lush that are bright blue etc and quite funky)

Do they stain your skin blue?

The snake/venom concept was actually quite a good idea. It definitely had potential and could have worked. But they're always rushed on these things, can't communicate properly etc. I know it's all engineered for exactly this kind of result.

I'm actually surprised that there was a dye ingredient available that stained skin. I suppose that was intentional.

burnoutbabe · 03/03/2023 08:21

No didn't stain skin. But you'd also expect products to be made by professionals who can say "you need x to get green without staining"

Not just give people random stuff to stir!

The snake bottle did look very dodgy though. However it was still better than the horrible orangey star thing for OAPS!

TIM was their target market. You'd think they might have glanced over to see him looking less than impressed and thought twice.

AnImaginaryCat · 03/03/2023 08:27

I'm not sure about the rest of you - though I can only imagine must syou feel the same - I will be eternally grateful Avi was given the chance in the boardroom to enlighten everyone that mixing yellow and blue makes green.

I think we must also all.be sadden that he has been fired and there is no longer a chance of us being able to learn from his great wisdom and knowledge. Thank goodness he took the time to remind us of onomatopoeia again.

We can only live in hope he'll create and present an educational series for the BBC. It can be call "I've a Tip for You Rocelle"*. We can learn all about things like how to cross a road, say hello in different languages, and learn even more big words.

*think it was Rocelle he patronised with by this sentence starter.

This season I'm finding the lip filler/ make up/ridiculous clothing so distracting that I can barely concentrate on what the women are saying.
So sad that these women have been selected ( with the exception of Megan)
What does it say about aspiration and body confidence and what kind of message is it giving to young girls?
In complete contrast the indoor athletics this morning with beautiful, natural, female athletes - but not peak time viewing of course...

I don't trust Rochelle. What a snake! Honestly, this just reminds you that this process is not about making friends. It's all about business.

Yes making the snake venom appropriately

She should have gone

MarshaBradyo · 03/03/2023 09:46

I assume when the companies say they’ll buy x amount it’s just for the show and they don’t

It was a good episode. I have a fondness for the one who reminds me of Wallace and Gromit character as her face is great

TaraMock · 03/03/2023 10:51

Two things that really bothered me last night; 1) Rochelle said oh I'll add yellow to blue to make primary colour green 😠 2) the missing apostrophe in man's! No-one picked up on it, and it really, really annoyed me.
Seriously, how dumb are these candidates??!!

ReneBumsWombats · 03/03/2023 10:57

Yeah, I was waiting for someone to notice the missing apostrophe. It might have been because the box was basically a mess with text all over it that people missed it.

Didn't hear Rochelle say green was a primary colour. Oh lord....

Same. My favourite ever contestant was Ruth Badger, they need more people like her.

MarshaBradyo · 03/03/2023 11:25

The one that sold well in last task is pretty good

Cant recall any names

WarningToTheCurious · 03/03/2023 12:06

Avi's LinkedIn shows him to be quite entrepreneurial, so I'm not surprised that they said keep in touch.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 03/03/2023 12:12

Avi's main issue is that he's immature - more like a teenager than an adult. And he's a chronic 'explainer' - telling people stuff that any person of reasonable intelligence would already know, as if he's just made an amazing discovery.

rioseco · 03/03/2023 13:14

@Twonewcats
Ahh yes- Ruth Badger!

I quite liked him though

I do think it is biased towards the female contestants

Wombats67 · 03/03/2023 14:01

How? By making the women do all the tasks in impossible clothes and shoes.

There is no chance in hell they get ready in 20 mins either.

No wonder girls want to be trans, all the role models in prime time tv are so manufactured into a very narrow definition of a woman, not the rick diversity that is real life.

Wombats67 · 03/03/2023 14:01

or non-binary!!
if you don’t ascribe to that awful make-up aesthetic then are you ‘really’ a woman. Apprentice really needs up up its portrayal of women who are more like the Badger. The Muslim lady from the last series dropped out early as did a more regular looking woman in this one. Megan is the only one not ‘enhanced’ now.

martinisforeveryone · 03/03/2023 15:07

I much preferred it when the series winner got a job with a Sugar business, it's more of a bad game show now. Although, that said, I suspect it's the more interesting parts that get cut out and Karren and Tim's feedback plays a big part in who gets the chop.

Is the BBC2 follow on worth looking at this week? Tom Allen's presentation gets on my wick a bit so I've been swerving it this series. but I'm intrigued as to how much better Avi might have come across.

They stopped that after it went sour one time.

ArcaneWireless · 03/03/2023 15:27

Honestly martini - Avi managed to sway me.
