Why has Silent Witness got so bad?

I used to love it. Really love it. It's become totally ridiculous and I've lost all interest in what is happening. Is this just me, or have the plot lines masssively deteriorated? Also I miss Clarissa.

The dialogue has gone really weird!

I tried watching it the other day but got fed up of the constant suspense music and the severe lack of any dialogue. I used to love it

Yes! It's been enjoyable cheesy and ridiculous for some time, but this season the dialogue is so stilted and wooden.

I have literally never watched it ever. I caught it last week and omg it was sooooo bad I was laughing at it.

Da and I are avid fans and we said this watching this season.

Especially drives my ds mad when it gets very far fetched - he's autistic and can only manage to watch so much poetic license 🤣

Not enough forensics.

The plots are ludicrous too. They used to be really compelling story lines - and I would care about what had happened to the body on the table, but now....

The acting is so wooden and basic. It’s laughable.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. I wouldn't say I was a massive fan, but I have enjoyed previous seasons when I have caught up with them, this season is absolutely dire! The acting is wooden, and you could drive a coach and horses through the holes in the plotlines.

It went weird a few years ago. They should have ended it by now

The acting is just so wooden, it doesn't flow and the characters just don't connect with each other in the same way as they have done in the past. I mean it's always been a bit far fetched that forensics are doing the police's work chasing down criminals but it's just really bad now.

There's been loads of different new characters the last few series and I feel as if there is nothing new eg people smuggling.

I think they are making the story lines too complicated, not enough forensics and too much Cagney and Lacey going on. The new characters don’t gel, everyone is too quirky or perky. I miss Clarissa too.

Also Jack and Nicky getting together has taken away the only interesting intrigue.

I've stopped watching it too. Very disappointing. Very boring. It may as well be about a team of accountants tracking down some new calculators.

I gave up a few series ago, so well done for sticking so long.

It was deteriorating back then with ridiculous plot lines I couldn't get through an episode without rolling my eyes.

Quincy is better for forensics. More believable storylines too! I love Quincy and learnt quite a lot from watching that and reading Patricia Cornwell.

It is shockingly bad, both the story lines and acting are so poor, can't believe the bbc are happy to put their name to it.

I was glad to see Clarissa go. Never found her a believable character.

Last series was fine this one not so much. The deaf girl annoys me because they put subtitles on when she signs and I hate subtitles. So distracting.

Acting very poor as well.

I used to love it. It was at it's best with Nikki, Harry & Leo.

I can see they are trying to be inclusive with a character who signs but those scenes feel very contrived as they're not really part of the storyline.

Used to be so good. Now lots of boring political shite.
