OMG, is no-one watching?? Paul and Angela dancing the chacha for the North west, he is studying for his a-levels but looks about 40. There's a 'fake' celeb he looks like (some sort of gossip presenter?) but I can't find who I'm thinking of

Looks like they have skipped the semi-finals and gone straight to the final for tonight, and then next week it's not on. Sod Gary Lineker, this is the kind of thing that will have me cancelling my television licence.

You did not dream the Combine Harvester, @Wbeezer , they do have a pretty eclectic mix of music.

@Limer I learned a bunch of progressive/old time dances when I was a teen, at a summer activity <deliberately vague>, including the Military Two Step, St Bernard's Waltz, Moonlight Saunter, etc etc. They are all pretty easy, but the versions we did didn't bear all that much resemblance to the elegant Come Dancing variety. More like 50 13-18 year olds rattling the floor, hoofing up and down

@SpikyHatePotato I'm very jealous of you learning all those dances! I only did a bit of country dancing and maypole dancing at school. I love a barn dance, but sadly they don't seem as popular these days.

And randomly, the 1978 final is currently on Iplayer. I don't think it was one of the ones we enjoyed taking the piss out of a few years ago.
