I watched it and guessed right on a couple of things

Can we give away spoilers?

Stomacharmeleon · 26/12/2022 23:45

I thought it had more holes than my colander.... but In a nice way :)

Wenttoohighwantdown · 26/12/2022 23:46

I enjoyed it - the story didn't go exactly as I expected - quite disappointed at that! (are we allowed spoilers?), but it went along a predictable path and had some nice moments!

dcbc1234 · 27/12/2022 01:04

A pleasant episode in several ways....

Elderflower14 · 27/12/2022 06:06

I won't say how I thought it would go...
NO SPOILERS!!!

Does anyone know if it was filmed in a different location? I thought that the island looked different, less rustic perhaps and the bar didn't look the same to me?

Leftbutcameback · 27/12/2022 13:21

@Bumblebeefriend definitely filmed in the same location. The posh hotel, and the view down to the bay are all very close to the police station. Good to see the church being used too (which really is right next door)

On planner

haven’t seen so Havnt read replies yet

I didn't enjoy this as much as the usual ones. Wasn't really Christmassy. Also a bit too long - and yet I'm a huge DiP fan. Felt it wasn't as "tight" as usual somehow. No obvious villain. I also thought the feel was different - different music, and it looked different. Not as sunny - can't put my finger on it. Still watched - and it whiled away the time in a pleasant enough way.

FluffyYucca · 28/12/2022 22:17

I didn’t like the theme tune - much preferred the old one. And it was all a bit depressing (yes, I know it’s murder, but there’s generally more sun and humour)

Hope they get back to something generally more upbeat for the actual series.

Riverlee · 30/12/2022 09:25

Got around to watching it last night.

We thought it was a bit over long and I thought the bar looked different as well.

I quite liked the multiple personalities explanation.

I half expected the living twin to be Linus though, and they had swopped beds as a child and the parents hadn’t realised. So Linus had been living his life as his brother all these years, because he couldn’t reveal the truth.

obviously Sophie is going to be the new love interest. Initially thought she was a new employee of Catherine’s.

Were the twins actually twins or brothers in real life?

That was my thought in my OP that the twins had swapped...

Def

once been shown on tv it’s fair game

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/12/2022 15:19

Ditto also thought twins had swapped

rho not sure why missing twin didn’t say where he lived at age 8

or did he lose his memory

how did les Dennis find him if police couldn’t

my 5yr knows her address if need be

glad he didn’t shoot Lorraine

blonde lady so obviously his love interest

I thought it was easy watching

Poshjock · 30/12/2022 15:30

I thought they said he’d lost his memory when the fisherman found him?

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/12/2022 15:34

Ah possibly @Poshjock

i missed that

elisenbrunnen · 30/12/2022 15:37

Yeah, I lost interest with the enormous plot hole in that Neville's mum's luggage arrived on the plane - when she didn't. Anyone who has ever flown knows, surely, that if you are not on the plane, your luggage isn't either. It'll be removed before the plane even taxies. So the luggage 'mix-up' would simply never happen.

It annoyed me so much I stopped watching.

Yep, the luggage in the plane annoyed me too.
Didnt enjoy it that much, it felt different.

Lovegossip · 30/12/2022 18:07

I wonder if we will see the commisonners daughter this season

DemBonesDemBones · 30/12/2022 19:18

I had to sit through this with my old Dad.

Terrible. Like an A-Level media production. The plot, the acting...I was open mouthed at points that this had made it to screen. Absolutely excruciating. Confused

TitsInAbsentia · 30/12/2022 21:04

Thought the same with the luggage but didn't stop me watching it! It is starting to become more obvious in terms of the story lines. I tend to watch it for the scenery these days!

BigFatLiar · 30/12/2022 21:12

The luggage didn't bother me. I know it shouldn't happen but it does, I've arrived at one place luggage elsewhere. Though they did stretch that bit out a bit, I'd have opened the bag straight away.

It was a bit long

MeinKraft · 30/12/2022 22:54

I loved it but then I was working my way through a bottle of Prosecco at the time of watching. The beach looked not very nice at the end though!

MeinKraft · 30/12/2022 22:55

Marlon and Naomi are adorable though.
