It's more his offence at them then suggesting him @ReneBumsWombats. Everyone else takes it on the chin and defend themselves but Theo would get so offended. I get his upset at Amanda accusing him but anyone else just doesn't make sense. He can't expect people to never suspect him just because he tells them he's a transparent character.

Kieran was crying as if Amos had actually died….you’ll see him in a few days mate! I actually like Will, he seems to have a conscience but also realises he has to play the game.

I didn't like Will when he threw Alyssa under the bus and was overdoing the acting but as the show goes on he's growing on me. I really liked Amanda but she's starting to become a bit ruthless. Guess it's all part of the game though.

kc431 · 17/12/2022 10:24

I do think Alyssa was the weakest link though, her defence was just “I’ve never spoken to adults, I’m quiet” and it was between her and Will - it’s a bit of a dick move but then again it’s a competition for money and a game all about lies and deception.

Voting for her was such a risk though - I kept thinking what if Alyssa doesn’t get the majority of votes, then Will and Amanda would have to go back up to the turret and face her straight afterwards! Imagine how sheepish they’d have been!

scotsbud · 17/12/2022 10:26

I would think Amanda will be the next banished, it's hard to be a traitor for so long and never be questioned. Will has the advantage in that he voted off a traitor earlier and he has been questioned by maddy all the way along

Figgygal · 17/12/2022 10:31

I think Amanda is toast
They need to get rid of fay to protect themselves
It's surprisingly gripping despite being totally crap lol

Samcro · 17/12/2022 10:33

I like Maddy
I felt so sorry for her when no one picked her. the actor thing is daft, bit like that guy who was a magician. never heard of them so hardly Kate winslet and dynamo.

scotsbud · 17/12/2022 10:39

yes some of Maddys acting roles seemed a bit more like an extra. i.e. lying on a trolley on casualty. I don't think we'll ever see Kate Winslett on traitors

I would have liked to see Will voted out on that day and then see how Amanda and Alyssa dealt with Amanda having voted for Alyssa. It would have been really interesting to watch. Will’s growing on me now, he was my least favourite traitor to begin with.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 17/12/2022 12:04

I think tonight could be a turning point. Wilf and Amanda are starting to look awkward

Yes I agree. Amanda seriously screwed up by saying Theo was the person she most trusted (and she had first choice so could have voted for ANY of the others) and then voting for him for banishment. Hannah and Faye have both clocked that.

I think the actual activities didn't help at all because weren't the answers based on what other contestants thought? And they seem to be pretty crap at character assessment so far. The killing in plain sight didn't help at all either.

The fewer the people left, obviously the harder it's going to be for the traitors to hide, plus all the little groups of people will become one big group. Was it Kieran who said they shouldn't be discussing strategy because anyone present could be a traitor?

I can't remember, who were the two candidates for murder last night?

kc431 · 17/12/2022 12:10

Yep - Amanda’s shot herself in the foot with that one! Theo’s crying was ridiculous though, he looked like he was about to face the electric chair rather than being voted out of a gameshow. I guess being really sleep deprived and filming for hours will make you really unstable

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 17/12/2022 12:16

I am pretty sympathetic to the tears and heightened emotions, but even for me it was a bit much last night, bless them.
I agree that the desire for approval and to fit in is greater than the desire to win the game for many of them. For Theo the group approval seems to be validation of who he is, so being banished was interpreted (by him) as a rejection of who he is. There was one line in particular that he said, that made me think this.

Yeah I hope he gets some very thorough psychological help with that

ZandathePanda · 17/12/2022 12:22

Why are they all so emotional? Beautiful place, great food. I would treat the bits I wasn’t being filmed as a holiday. Most of them don’t seem to have children so it’s not that.

ReneBumsWombats · 17/12/2022 12:38

It's an intense, immersive environment that encourages both team bonding and team division. They'll have picked people who got properly into it...would be boring otherwise and wouldn't work, because forming bonds is a crucial element of the game. As it's so isolated, there's probably a sense of unreality about the whole thing - intentional, I'm sure - and a feeling that they're not operating in real life which, of course, they're not.

I expect they weep when they're banished partly from tension release and the feeling of rudely being kicked out of the bubble environment and partly because it must be hard being part of a group that does seem to get on very well, but finding that you're the one they trust the least. Nobody likes being ejected from a group when they feel they belong. You'll notice they don't seem to cry when they get murdered...

ReneBumsWombats · 17/12/2022 12:41

When you're murdered, it probably doesn't feel personal, even if you're disappointed to be out of the game. When you're banished, it can only be because you're the least trusted/liked overall, even if the traitors planted the seeds. That's got to hurt more.

burnoutbabe · 17/12/2022 12:55

you;d assume it was flattering if murdered - YOU ARE A THREAT - ie you are clever or play the game well and could have won. I would take it that way (but be disappointed)

the banishing is much more personal - and it would drive me MAD (maybe even to tears) the poor logic Maddy displays and keeps blurting out. but you can't argue with stupid can you?

I reckon Kieran will stay to the end - not being suspected at all, fairly calm (mostly) and not irrational. but he should be most obvious as a newby, that they made one a traitor and 1 a faithful (amos). And i doubt he cares as much, being a successful business man, about being liked - being seen as being successfil at winning things is probably more important to him - being liked/nice seems more important to most of the rest.

Elfholloway · 17/12/2022 14:11

I doubt they get much time off though - each segment must take a lot of filming each day, and it's such an intense environment with no escape or info from the outside world, it must all start to get v intense.

I vaguely know one of the contestants (not going to say who) and apparently they weren't allowed to tell anyone where they were or what they were doing, so this isolation must add to the drama.

Rowthe · 17/12/2022 14:20

Bluejeantreefrog · 16/12/2022 23:58

If only 1 traitor left wouldn't they recruit their best friend to share the money with? More chance of winning if more traitors?
Personally I used to hate Wilf but tonight's episode I think he's regretting being a traitor Amanda is ruthless and hope she gets banished soon.

I think hes playing the audience there.

No one wants to come out of the programme with people thinking how ruthless they are,.so I think hes thinking about his rep out of the programme- hes playing us...

Rowthe · 17/12/2022 14:24

I think if they are smart they will get rid of Fay.

In the mission there was the question about who was most controlling.

Which means Fay has a lot of sway on the group. Also at the round table she clocked the way Amanda voted, and she said a few thongs which made her stand out as very intelligent.

They need to get rid of her otherwise they dont stand a chance.

Will is a bit of a snake, I think hes playing the faithful. Now started against Amanda, and also playing us with his act about how hard hes finding it all.

I think they should leave Aaron as he will probably get banished soon anyway. And they need to kill Andrea soon as she will never get banished.

zen1 · 17/12/2022 14:53

The traitors see Fay as a threat and I think she’ll be murdered tonight. From the trailer last night, it looked like one of the traitors might get banished next. I think Wilf will go before Amanda.

Rowthe · 17/12/2022 15:30

I thi k Amanda might go tomorrow. She made a huge mistake in voting out Theo after saying she believed in him 100%.

Also Wills been sowing seeds of doubt against her.

HermioneHerman · 17/12/2022 15:54

Loving the show and this thread, enough to finally convinced me to create an account so I can contribute, haha 😆.

I think we're massively being played by some of them...Maddy is surely just playing a Stacey Solomon character, she doesn't come across as genuine to me at all. Convinced we'll find out she's a RADA-trained posh girl from Bath or something later on.

And Andrea could have completely duped everyone. I know she's a Faithful of course but I reckon she's massively over-egging the whole sweet old lady thing and how happy and grateful she is to be there since she lives alone, purely to fly under the radar and get to the end. Amanda has said Andrea is made of steel and some of her quips to camera ("get the fuck on with it") show that side too. I wouldn't be surprised she's a total snake and it's all BS to win them over..

kc431 · 17/12/2022 16:16

For sure - I think the sweet old lady is a bit of an act to get sympathy! Because who’d be so heartless to kill a sweet old lady? Yet at her interview in the first ep she said she’d love to be a traitor as she used to work for the Government or something

MajesticWhine · 17/12/2022 16:17

Andrea would have made a good traitor I think.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 17/12/2022 18:25

With Andrea, it's not about off-ing a sweet old lady, it's about kicking her out when she's expressed, in tears, about how life-affirming it's been as a widow to be in company again. They're her grandchildren now!

I love the idea of us viewers being 'betrayed' by one or two of the participants being actors. I think it'd have to be someone protected by shields at crucial moments, being paid and not eligible for the prize fund.
