CBeebies - what's with all the crap singing?!!!

What has happened to CBeebies? Why are the presenters being made to sing crap songs about autumn and recycling? Don't they realise they sound awful? Why can't they just stick to presenting? The only decent singer out of all of them is Chris when he sings the bedtime song, the others should just STOP IT NOW!

Maybe I am strange but I enjoy the songs, particulary the recycling and number 'rap'. My DS seems to enjoy them too, he's taken to dancing like a 'hillbilly' to the rap.

beansprout · 01/02/2008 21:59

I love the fact that none of them can sing for toffee. Fab!

glitterkitty · 01/02/2008 22:21

I love that they have to sing. Esp Poy/Poi/Pui whatever because she so clearly cant.

They get paid good money for doing what I have to do every day for nowt (i.e. talk rubbish and pretend to be interested in finley the pathetic fire engine).

The only good thing about kids programmes is sportacus.

JossStick · 01/02/2008 23:03

If it's 3 o'clock and Sid tells me it's big fun time - then IT'S BIG FUN TIME!

JossStick · 01/02/2008 23:03

Makes me smile every time

moljam · 01/02/2008 23:04

i love it!!!!!

expatinscotland · 01/02/2008 23:07

DD2 loves to sing and dance to it.

In her two-year-old voice.

I love watching her do it, too.

NO ONE sings as good as PC Plum on Balamory, though.

'I love the country!'

glitterkitty · 01/02/2008 23:08

Oh I love pc plum lololol!!!

tudorrose · 02/02/2008 16:53

monkeypie · 02/02/2008 17:34

Can't believe i'm admitting to this but the xmas rap was very amusing

dmo · 02/02/2008 19:17

I'm a childminder and what i love about working with children is that they dont care what your singing voice is like and your drawing skills

never watched cbeebies as my boys are 10 and 11 but children do love songs

JoyS · 02/02/2008 19:33

Off topic but is Pui preggers? She was looking rather bulgy the other day.

Ledodgy · 02/02/2008 19:34

I love the what would you do if ..recycling song and when I wa spregnant almost blubbed everytime it played.

123ken · 02/02/2008 19:45

I really loved the autumn song - me and my baby girl used to dance round the lounge every day when it came on. I miss it! I also quite fancy Andy, which is a bit sick as I'm 37...

bunjies · 03/02/2008 11:16

I'm obviously in the minority here but when you've heard them for the 50,000th time then the novelty wears off! do have to admit to a sneaky liking for the number raps though .

I love singing along to the cheesy songs to make dd laugh. Some of them are on you tube
Number rap
Christmas song 2007
and my personal fave Christmas 2006!!!!

hifi · 03/02/2008 11:52

i love the recycling song, brightens my day, even sky + it. trying to learn the words, dd turns the volume up for me when it comes on.

CrushWithEyeliner · 03/02/2008 11:56

oh i like the recycling one - except when the kids shout WHY WHAT WHEN that is a tad annoying

jetgirl · 04/02/2008 21:48

I miss the autumn one, and love the number raps

(123ken - I like Andy too, not sure why though )

princessmel · 04/02/2008 21:49

Dd, ds and I were watching the recyling one earlier. We liked it. I liked the tall guy's yellow stripy jumper.

hoxtonchick · 04/02/2008 21:51

i like the recycling one, we were all singing along earlier... dp reckoned pui was pg the other day too.

princessmel · 04/02/2008 21:52

I just watched the number rap. I think its cute that they seem to be real life friends.

ragga · 13/03/2008 18:35

Why can't CBEEBIES presenters talk normally? Most of the presenters, especially the men, talk in that ridiculously manic, overly emphatic and patronising whine that has become the 'pat' way of talking down to children. Is having your balls cut off so you can constantly talk an octave higher a prerequisite to becoming a CBeebies male presenter or do they just talk like that because
a) to talk normally would be far too threatening or
b) is it to cover up cheap program making

I'd like presenters to be normal role models for our kids. It's really boring and lazy of them to employ these freaks. Top of our list of those we'd like shot: JUSTIN.

Bring back: Smarteenies, Bits and Bobs. They border on normal.

keevamum · 13/03/2008 18:40

Just have to say I CAN'T Stand Andy. I don't know why, does anyone else suffer from this. I think it's because he doesn't look like a children's tv presenter to me but someone you'd see dancing very drunkenly in a nightclub, lots of coke around his nose etcetera. Or am I wrong?
