Well Hamza did have his Sudanese grandma and Aunt . I'm not particularly fond of over emotive dances but I don't think dancers showing their emotions Is a bad thing.

EvilRingahBitch · 12/12/2022 11:04

Helen gets a pass for one emotional wobble because she has so resolutely refused to play the "my husband ran off with a younger woman when I'd just given birth, leaving me with three small children" card. She's not even really done an indirect "it's been a difficult year but Strictly has given me back my joy in life/self-confidence", and when Gorka did it she looked like she wanted to kill him.

Hamza doesn't really have a sob story does he? He's from a supportive middle class family. He had initial poor school handling of his dyslexia I think but it didn't stop him getting to university and getting a degree at the normal age. The living in his car thing wasn't due to poverty, it was due to obsessive pursuit of his life goals, which paid off. I love him, but actually think that a sob story would harm his vote: his fan base likes him happy, give or take the occasional tear of joy.

Agree

has molly had tears ?

Willmafrockfit · 12/12/2022 11:17

has molly had tears ?

She hasn't, apart from I think the first dance off

SoupDragon · 12/12/2022 11:25

he arrived in the U.K. at 8, unable to speak any English which must have been difficult so it's not been entirely plain sailing.

amusingly, when I googled to confirm that, the first hit for Hamza was this 😂

Hamza is always crying 😂

BogRollBOGOF · 12/12/2022 11:50

I've got no issue with people spontaneously becoming emotional and getting on with it. People who go on about having emotions get pretty tedious.

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2022 11:57

Maireas · 12/12/2022 11:01

@RedToothBrush your husband obviously isn't familiar with SCD. Men frequently cry. Nothing to stop them. Whatever class.

Oh i wonder who that person sat on the sofa I watch with every bloody week is?!

The comments this week absolutely have laid into Will for crying for effect and saying that was about his ego.

I see a bloke who is more nervous than he tries to make out and covers up by over compensating tbh. I am do think DH has a point about stereotypes here.

Maireas · 12/12/2022 11:58

No need to get cross,@RedToothBrush .
I assumed he didn't watch it because loads of men cry on it.
Every year.

Iamboredandgoingforatwix · 12/12/2022 12:10

Sorry to derail a bit, but did anyone think Vito was really hot last night? I think it was the guy liner.

Normally have a thing for gorka, but Vito has caught my attention now. 😂

Lentilweaver · 12/12/2022 12:26

Maybe others have cried; I have to admit I began fast forwarding VTs the year Ore cried more or less constantly:)

Maireas · 12/12/2022 12:27

Ore was quite the weeper! He was an amazing dancer, though and I'm glad he won.

Lentilweaver · 12/12/2022 12:29

I was in the Danny Mac camp:)

Maireas · 12/12/2022 12:34

Danny and Oti were incredible! I still watch those dances.....

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 12/12/2022 13:18

Now that man could dance @Maireas

i went to see Oti’s show and she was incredible. So effortless. She is a tour de force!

Maireas · 12/12/2022 13:20

She's brilliant!
I still have a place in my heart for their samba!

ilovebrie8 · 12/12/2022 14:23

I think that was off the comment by Shirley when asked about Will being in the final she doesn't want him to be by the sounds of it🤔...scores were way off last night! For me Will's dance at the end was a bad choice and Fleur's were not her best nor Hamza I'd think it is between these 3 for the DO. Helen was good and Molly was v good so think they will be ok.

Bluevelvetsofa · 12/12/2022 14:25

I could see what the judges have said about Hamza’s feet much better yesterday. He’s definitely turning them in. I think he peaked a couple of weeks ago. I’d like to see both Molly and Fleur in the final four. They’ve both been very resilient.

Vito is more manly imo. Too young for me but if I was that age....😍

ilovebrie8 · 12/12/2022 15:53

Vito is the best looking of the bunch I think, Gorka is a tad too short

Lentilweaver · 12/12/2022 15:56

I was thinking how this year even my faves do not have more than 2 or 3 memorable dances. Helen: jive, CC, quickstep
Fleur: samba, AT, maybe paso
Molly: quickstep, paso, charleston

In previous years, I have liked almost every dance my fave did. :( Even last year, without her being in the final, I liked AJ's jive, charleston, CC, AS, AT and others I can't remember.

ilovebrie8 · 12/12/2022 16:03

There haven't been any stand out dances this year...compared to other years...I think Hamza will win as he seems to have the popularity vote with the publci and Shirley loves him!....but I'd prefer Helen to win assuming they make it to next week...the scoring of way off this year.

No need to be sexist and rude in the first place though was there?

Tough northern blokes aren't allowed to cry was the feeling that a tough northern bloke got from the reaction to Will crying. A bloke who was also expressing a belief he'd let his partner and family down.

Thats the place male suicide comes from, if not permitted by society.

Thats what really bothered DH. The desire to shut Wills expression down.
