Likely Hollyoaks?!

AutumnCrow · 28/12/2022 10:45

Indeed. I watched ‘The Wall’ one night out of curiosity and it was excruciating. As in, excruciatingly awful.

Is ‘Danny Dyer’ even real, or is he a persona (registrable for tax purposes like dear, dear Lorraine).

Anyway I expect adverts and ‘Tesco Towers’ beckon for Danny, after perhaps a shit documentary about something ‘ard.

So was Linda departing for a bizarre 'your dad's dead' road trip with Annie then? Surely the local police can do a visit so as to avoid the phone call? Confused I do think some of the acting has been fab (and I know it's not real) but so much has been ridiculous - Linda and Janine weren't wearing seatbelts when the car hit the water so would surely have been killed by the impact or at least knocked out! Unless the car headlights stayed on Mick would have had zero chance of finding the car underwater, how would anyone have called for help - no phones? And when did the east end of London move closer to Dover? Grin

Totally agree that DD will probably return when he's down on his luck, with an implausible story of where he's been, on the day Linda is getting married to someone else!

I also agree with pp's who've said they think Lola will die on NYE Sad they do seem to be speeding that storyline along!

SoupDragon · 28/12/2022 12:14

Yes, the Dead Dad Road Trip is a bit odd!

TBH, I suspect we will find out he isn't dead and he will leave in another way - to "find himself" or "recover" after all the hits his mental health has taken.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/12/2022 12:22

Why would any actor leave a cushty job being paid thousands every year

I was thinking the same re Janine and Linda and no seatbelts or even getting out of a car underwater.

Why would you trust Janine if you were Linda?! eg get in a car with her…

Agreed Shirley doesn’t do grief that well. Ricky’s acting has got marginally better over the episodes!

Sam’s sneaking around by garages… Hmm

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2022 16:24

DD has been offered a lot of money for Sky I believe, but I guess he'll come back one day ..
the door is open there

Ego

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2022 16:27

I watched the Christmas day one again and I did wonder why L got into that car !
Plus why chase after her on Christmas Day ?
The ferries wouldn't be running ( I guess) and she had nothing but a small bag and a phone and her passport : they could have caught up with her the following day after ringing the police
She could've have gone far in a stolen car
It was silly to chase after her

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2022 16:35

The whole thing was ridiculous really
Again, the fact she was pregnant was a deciding factor , but then again she accused him of having erectile dysfunction , so who knows if it is actually his or not ?
..

worried about being typecast as a one dimensional cockney geezer... oh, wait...

I suppose the reality is that it doesn't have to be a permanent departure. Many characters have gone, done different stuff and then come back.

Also in DD’s case perhaps both he and the scriptwriters felt they’d done a lot with Mick recently and he needed a break, not to die as such, but an open ended return storyline.

It’s a pity that the Janine storyline seems to have progressed so fast as I like her as an actress. Suki is starting to piss me off standing in the Minute Mart making comments about her perfect marriage!

We all know what will happen to Lola too and it’s such a shame as a happier ending would’ve been much nicer.

Well it's worked for Shane-Daz-Doorstep-Challange-Ritchie .
He's never off the screen and never deviates even slightly from Cockney Geezer Xmas Wink

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2022 18:25

I dont mind Alfie ( I have had wine today )

Jellykat · 28/12/2022 18:35

I dont mind Danny Dyer, apart from the squinty eye thing he does.. but then my Dads family is proper old East end (Stepney/ Bethnal green), so i grew up with and surrounded by the cockney accent.. in fact my uncle is called Den!
Danny Dyer is fine by my reckoning.. Alfie gets on my tits tho! Grin

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2022 18:48

My late fil knew Vi kray ( the twins mum )
They gave up on EE many years ago

May you be forgiven Grin
Essentially Danny Dyer plays Danny Dyer and Shane Ritchie plays Shane Ritchie.

By the way its The Wawww, no Ls involved .

Snoredoeurve · 28/12/2022 19:20

Is it me or is Keanu being brought in as the new Philth ?
Needs to practice his red, angry face .

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2022 19:21

I've moved on to spirits
So now I actually like Phil too ! Lol

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2022 19:22

I'd love Kym be the new gangster on the square!
He is a bit too pretty though ?
.. maybe ? I fancy him , so it would be fine with me !!

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2022 19:22

Keanu not Kym !! Lol
Death by scissors ✂️

Jellykat · 28/12/2022 19:23

Steady the80s,!!you'll be proclaiming Ricky is an Adonis next..

AutumnCrow · 28/12/2022 19:48

'Oh sorry we didn't see her there' says Martin of Scarlett sitting two feet away.

Jellykat · 28/12/2022 20:01

Poor little Scarlett!
Also, whats with every Tom Dick and Harry and Sam? I thought more of Keanu!

the80sweregreat · 28/12/2022 20:06

I don't mind Ricky either
At least he likes board games ( and chips )
Bless him
Poor Scarlett
Shirley was out of order there to a ten year old :(
