I'd be fed up if my soap character was shipped off to Milton Keynes or Manchester when others ended up in NZ , Australia or the USA , Portugal or Spain.

I think Golders Green is expensive in real life. I also think it has a night proportion of Jewish residents, hence Dr Legg living there.

Its the smallest church they could possibly find, so they could explain away all the people who should have been at the funeral but weren't!

I don't think it was a church as such, it was a chapel in a cemetery. They can look quite "countryside" due to the size.
