Happy Valley series 3 to be shown at Christmas?

Does anyone have more info about this, ie the actual date it starts.

I'm planning to re watch series 1 & 2 and dont want to find myself like I did in the run up to the last series of Spiral having to watch 2 or 3 episodes a day to be ready in time!

i'd recently watched both series again and they're just amazing.

I love Sarah Lancashire, too. The only thing I've ever seen her in that I couldn't bear was the "Talking It just made me feel sick. Heads" episode where she was the mother who had incestuous feelings for her teenage son - and tbh it was the topic rather than her.

I don't know how "It just made me feel sick" managed to insert itself between "Talking" and "Heads".

I should have proofread - I usually do (still miss little things, but would have aought that one - probably)

Well I'm all caught up and ready. Have to say I didn't find series 2 as engrossing as series 1. The plots seemed more contrived, but needed I suppose to keep all the different story lines going. And the sad, sad story of the farm family.

I thought the family interactions were really good, but suspect she would be a nightmare to live with!

I'd hate to live with her, too* - but I'd love to know whose house they were filming in. I LOVE the colours and am fascinated by the part-completed flowers on the kitchen cabinet doors. At one point I was tying to work out whether they were in the process of being painted, or being covered up. I'll be interested to see if it has been changed. (Hope they're in the same house).

Their street garden was gorgeous, too.

*In fairness she has a stressful job and a nightmare of a personal life.

I just binge watched over Christmas, I don't know how I missed the first two series (although looking at air dates I was in the middle of two hyperemesis pregnancies when they were originally on, so I was probably being sick). It's one of the best things over ever seen. Shirley Henderson in series two was especially chilling. Looking forward to this new series!

I rewatched season 1&2 over Christmas as there was bugger all else on. Second time around was even better. It's a brilliantly written show with an amazing cast. Young Ryan was such a good little actor.

I wonder if Catherine will have got herself a new coat and scarf 6 years on? 😀

Happy New Year to everyone!

It just feels like a normal Sunday to me but with a pinch of excitement for Happy Valley 3 tonight! I haven’t looked forwards to a TV show in such a long time! I hope we get more than an hour of the first episode...

Mostly just spending the day waiting for tonight!

Ha! This is the longest, slowest day!

Can’t wait. DH hasn’t seen Series 1 and 2 so we watched them again in December. Can’t wait to see 16 year old Ryan!

Have we got to watch week by week?
Or can it be downloaded after ep 1?

I don't know if it's available to download but I'm going to watch it weekly to make it last longer!

Really exciting first episode - how does the writer manage to put so many intriguing storylines into one episode? And generally the first episode or two of any show is as slow as snails picking their way carefully over heavily-salted eggshells - not this one! Straight in there BAM, BAM, BAM!!!

Icecream - yes, Heorge Costigan's in it, but I won't say any more as I don't want to risk giving away spoilers accidentally about any part of it.

I hope this standard can be kept up - so many really exciting storylines breadcrumbed already. Can't wait to see them brought together during the next episodes.
