Im glad Morticia isn’t in it much though. Not keen on Catherine Zeta-Jones’s interpretation.

I watched episode 1 with the DC (10 and 12) last night. I wasn't sure whether it would be suitable for them but they loved it. I liked CZJ - she looks absolutely stunning.

She's a fantastic young actress. If you pay attention you'll notice she never ever blinks. Even when not the focus of a scene she doesn't blink!

How big a role does Christina Ricci have? Is it weird her being in it?

She has a small role, herbology or Boteny teacher but one that means she is in most episodes.

She is not great, but some of that may be the fact that the guy who plays Gomez isn't great, he's certainly no Rual Julia or John Astin (Better than Tim Curry though, that was a total miscast). There is a flashback to younger Gomez who does much better.

They aren't in it much because the family isn't the focus, so don't let that put you off.

She’s certainly a method actress. When she was being interviewed for the part, she came straight after a scene in another film she was doing Babysitters Killer 3 or something like that.

An accident happened which caused her hand to be stabbed and blood covered it. Her interview showed this bloody hand. Tim Burton loved it!

But CZJ! Hadn't read any press etc so came to it cold and didn't recognise her at all, beyond thinking that the actress playing Morticia had had a lot of work done . . .

I was expecting it to be much worse than it was, It's a really nice little show. More Harry potter than Addams family though.
It's not too "Tim Burton looking" either, It's more "89 Batman" than "Batman Returns", presumably the TV budget forced him to rein his style in a bit, In my opinion the show is better for it.

The rest of them Addams family members casting is a bit bizarre isn't it, I mean Lurch and Thing are fine, Fester is okay, Morticia passable and Gomez.... cast based on the fact he looked like the comic sketches I think and not much else, he mumbles his way through most scenes, looks bored at the start in the car kissing Mortica's arms?

I read they were going for a more Latino Gomez which makes sense..as Gomez is Latino.

But luckily the family themselves are very background. I’m not sure it would have worked as well if they were as main as Wednesday
