It's a popularity contest. Those with the biggest fan bases will do better. Charlene and Scarlette both do not have the fan base that Sue, George and Chris have. Matt is getting voted for because it's controversial to keep him in. Owen will get the younger female vote. Jill is obviously flying high on the back of the lionesses Euro win. Not sure about Mike, Seann and Baba.

Not sure GBP are racist as such - not when Hamza is nailed on to win Strictly. I think they get behind the following:
an underdog, a big name, a drama llama, an attractive contestant or whoever is Ms/Mr Congeniality.
Once you have taken out those archetypes, it will be based on the edit and any known fanbase (e.g. soaps).
What you can argue is there is not enough BAME representation on telly - hence why the recent Channel 4 Black to Front day was so interesting.
I don't think Charlene and Scarlette were huge names. Babatunde, however, I'd be surprised at being an early boot because of the audience share for Gogglebox.

I was really shocked that Scarlett went out but I haven't voted for her so I suppose I shouldn't be. I thought she was safe. Unless you voted for her I don't think you can complain that she didn't get enough votes to stay in.

If she had been given the same air time as Seann and Jill and Batunde etc tonight fair enough. But she was 100% edited out last few nights. Right till lines closed.

But then who's voting for Sean the Anxious? And is the whole of parliament voting for MH?

Seann has been much more visible. He's been amusing. He stood against those bitching.
Matt has been visible, hasn't really done much wrong, tries hard and people don't like the others talking about him.
Scarlets lovely. But a bit absent from the screen.

i have been reading the thread but not posting. That’s pissed me off. Baba’s face said it all.

Also, why is the edit not showing Scarlette or much of Baba. Loads of Sue and mike and BG. Unconscious bias?

They didn’t discriminate against them at all. Charlene was on all the time. To be fair Baba is funny but he’s a bit of a one trick pony, relying on the same type of humour and expressions which is why he’s a bit thin in the ground. Scarlet was on tonnes.

I was just pointing out that is he hasn't got the same fan base as Sue, and he's as nice or even nicer than Scarlett, but yet Scarlett was voted out.

Sigh. I thought we were better than this....but perhaps its as people say that she was edited out the last couple of days, in which case I hope ITV receives many many complaints

It’s not racism as such because people aren’t voting contestants out. But I do think that it is about race, if that makes sense. The public are voting for people that they identify with or those that give a bit more drama.

Poor Scarlette - I've no idea if people voting are racist or not, but I'm voting for Chris as I'm a massive fan of his and love him on Radio X. My DCs all voted for Babatunde. We all love Scarlette but none of us voted for her.

Will vote for Baba for a bit now. He’s not particularly a fave of mine, but if racism is playing a part, I’ll cancel out a few of them. No time for that shit.

I confess I voted 5 times for Matt because the others hate him and want him gone. And I always think he's in danger of being gone next. Also, imagine Sunak's face when he keeps getting through. 😂

Sue isn’t popular, she was in the bottom two a couple of days ago! She will probably be out next.

I know Pippa Tony and James did an Instagram live earlier but I do wonder if Chris suffered because of the show not being on at the weekend so a Sunday vote wasn't plugged in the same way a week day one would be.

when they release the voting figures the bottom two announced are not always the bottom two voted for.

I quite like Sean. He walks a tricky path between everyone, keeping the peace. He’s quite astute too. And honest about not wanting to do trials or tasks!

I haven’t voted at all. I’m just watching but don’t care enough to vote.
