I hate to be the one to say it, but what happened to Caroline Flack taught us all a hard lesson.
Sure

He does have to take responsibility sorry

I agree re Seann's affair. It was a personal matter and doesn't make him a bad person all round. It was the same years ago when the world went mental because Tiger Woods was cheating on his wife left right & centre and they made him publicly apologise- I remember thinking, why tf is he apologising to me, I'm not his wife!!!

They've caused relationship breakdowns, its not like they've committed violent crimes and are a danger to the public! People need to get a grip.

It was more complicated at the time. Katya's husband was still working with him on the show. His girlfriend got involved and said how he'd treated her and the lies he'd told. It was just unpleasant all round and he did himself no favours.

He has taken responsibility. He publicly apologised a second time on Jonathan Ross and has said many times it was his fault. He is in therapy. He has alluded to a drinking dependency he has kicked.

The bad guy can go through horrible stuff too, as a consequence of their actions. I don’t think he needs to preface every reference to a tough few years with ‘just in case you think I don’t think this, it was all totally my own fault…’

i didnt know that detail. thanks.

That isn’t quite what he did. He said ‘if you cheat and lie to your girlfriend then it’s a form of abuse’.

Did Seann get booted from Strictly after the loss or was he already voted out?

Neither. I think he stayed in another few weeks before he got voted out.

Crikey! Bit awkward 😬🫣

CarPoor · 20/11/2022 01:06

It's no impact on me Seann kissing Katya. But I do find it frustrating when people describe cheating as a mistake. I think if you chose to be in the public eye and you chose to cheat and then admit to gaslighting and abusing your partner then what do you expect?

He wasn't liked because his behaviour was blatantly unlikeable, and he knows this behaviour is hurtful and unlikeable. He is also chosing to participate in another reality show and once again expose himself to the media which has traumatised him

I don't dislike him, but he doesn't have to take responsibility for his actions and he's not the victim in this scenario. That was his partner who was publicly humiliated and abused.

I think he has taken responsibility, it was 4 years ago though how long does a person have to be punished for something they apologised for!

I was more alluding to the press’s treatment of SW than the camp’s treatment of MH.

Eh?! I don’t think the press are reporting on this thread and publicly vilifying certain members

JaneJeffer · 20/11/2022 01:34

Who's "us all" then? Are you Press?

MarshaMelrose · 20/11/2022 01:38

The only person who's brought it up is him. I'd forgotten who he was. It's done and a bit boring now because they've all moved on. People on here have said they thought that the outcry against him was because of a quick snog with his dance partner. Posters have just tried to explain that there was more than that involved and it was almost daily news, with more revelations from his girlfriend of what he'd said and done. That being said, the public didn't hate him and he didn't get voted off straightaway so him keep going on that everyone hates him is absurd. I bet you hardly anyone in there even knew who he was.

Public and press - I thought that was clear 🤷‍♀️

Yes I said that tonight. He’s not nearly as sharp as he once was

And he gets his words jumbled up. I hope it's nothing serious?

I was watching an old episode of room 101 the other day and Chris Kamara was on it, was maybe a 6 year old episode, and he was getting his words jumbled which was getting a good few laughs - sad to think now that it wasn’t anything funny Sad

Aww that's sad. I haven't seen that episode.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 20/11/2022 06:47

I really don't care that seann missed Katya and the press really did hound him for a long time.

I really dislike Sue and Mike.
Jill is boring! Doesn't add anything to camp at all zzzzz

BonnesVacances · 20/11/2022 07:37

I think Dec is just tired. He has his family with him in Australia including little baby Jack, so he's probably not getting the downtime he usually gets between shows or the sleep at night. Plus if they're on air at 7am Aussie time, what time must they start?

BG reminds me of a friend of mine. She is automatically contrary and like Sean I find myself smoothing things over. But actually I love the way she doesn’t take the easy road and thinks ‘hang on’ when it would be easier to just nod and smile ( my lazy default).

There is an integrity in always being the grit of sand in the oyster.

I agree. BG has faults aplenty, but I can’t help liking him for precisely this reason. He also digs in and gets on with the trials, laughs openly at some things - ie MH at the eating trial - doesn’t offer faux sympathy or become irritated with the ones who mess up.

RosettaStormer · 20/11/2022 08:15

MarshaMelrose · 20/11/2022 00:15

I like BG but bit disappointed he isn't confronting more people. He is also a but scared to challenge people.

Confront people about what, though? What have people done to deserve to be confronted? Why is he superior enough to confront people but he doesn't like it when he was asked about his past deeds?

Exactly. Of course people are going to try not to rub each other up the wrong way. Of course they’re going to try and present the best side of themselves.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 20/11/2022 00:47

Same and I don’t think he wants back stabbing and drama like some people here claim, well that’s not what I took from it at all. I think he wants people to behave as they would in the outside world which is not telling folk you’ve known 2 weeks that you love them

Spot on @LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet . He was saying it how it is

user16480478 · 20/11/2022 08:22

We haven't had the letters from home yet which always makes me feel a little bit sickly, that must be sometime soon.

That’s how I feel about the situation with Seann. He’s anxious about being accepted because if he doesn’t come out of this well, it’s over. I don’t find him particularly funny either, but lots of people seem to, so he’ll probably be okay.
