It is dull in there because they are all playing the game and mostly tip toeing around each other. I'd sooner have a bitching session with BG than play What's the time Mr Wolf.

I agree I can see where BG is coming from.

I know quite a few very high earnings (through DP's families), and they are all tory voters. And proud of it too. So on that basis I find it very difficult to believe the majority of the camp aren't tory voters. It just isn't the 'thing' to be seen as a tory supporter right now and they're worried about how that comes across to the voting watchers.

I can imagine Matt does feel 'fake' because he doesn't react to anything. It does come across as disingenuous, and puts people on the back foot.

They're not excluding him, he was in the thick of that game, having a laugh with them all. They're still allowed to feel conflicted about Matt the politician and Matt the campmate. Let's be honest politicians aren't known for being genuine, decent people are they?

It’s not really popular to admit you vote Conservative. So people probably pretend they don’t like them, vote for them.

Although most people have had a Tory government for most of their lives.

Oooh wait until Matts leaves camp for a bit and guess what happens! they can’t help but talk about him.

Matt is being how he’s been conditioned to be. He is guided by his mind not his emotions, like most conservatives are.

Matt is far far far far more educated than the rest of the camp. He knows stuff they cannot even fathom. He is in control of himself and knows how to get what he wants in life. He’s more ‘mature’ as his life involves dealing with everyone from the people at the bottom to states-people. He is just not at all worried about what his teammates think. He wants to win over the public, not them.

He doesn’t get involved in the ‘politics’ in the camp as he plays it in real life and this is very much ‘beneath him’. Like kids in the playground no doubt.

He has worked his way up to the top - from using his brain. Unlike everyone else in there and it shows.

He is on the show to put a wall between covid and what happened, so he can go back to being one of the nice guys in politics, Like he used to be.

I think he’s being honest about his reasons for being there but finds the other camp mates tedious and small minded.

I think a lot of it might be deflecting. So knowing full well they vote (most likely) Tory, but attempting to get the heat off of them

Of all the conversations to show they chose Sue and her sidekick Mike starting yet another pathetic, pointless and predictable bitch about Matt . The sooner they go the better.

In most social situation people modify their behaviour, most people try and get on - its self-preservation, added to that the constant filming means that I would guess people are moderating their behaviour. I suspect that is true for everyone not just the politician.

The comments from CM that politicians all go in for their own glorification I believe to be untrue - there may be some who do but politicians generally want to change the world for the better. They have different views about what the country should be like and how that should be achieved.

I think a politician is an easy target - maybe in the current climate a tory MP is an even easier target. I suspect that quite a number of those on the show vote tory given they are high income earners - although being a high income earner does not necessarily mean that you vote tory.

I am not a tory voter but feel that the way some of the participants are acting is disingenuous.

It makes me sad that there are people like BG irl who think calmness and people getting on is boring and want drama and Things Happening and want to stir things up.
