I think Daniil got the measure of Djok and his 'injury' during their match in Adelaide.

Sinner is definitely in this match now. Whether he can draw level (not discounting a Stef comeback, really) ,I'm not sure.

2 sets all - I hope for a good match, and it is becoming that. Stef's level has dropped here and there, and Jannik has definitely raised his.

Stef will be gutted if he loses this though, could get the number ranking if he wins the tournament, and must have been fancying his chances.

Stef seems to have woken up a bit again now.

Victoria is starting to look a bit worried now.

I'm glad Stef won that. Sinner will bounce back from that loss, but I think it would have really affected Stef if he'd gone on to lose, like when he lost that five setter to Stan a few years ago at Roland Garros. I think he's got a good chance now, although you can't write of seed-slayer Lehecka (who came across really well in his on-court interview after becoming the latest vehicle for the Netflix curse, I think).

The schedualling really is stupid, though. But then we say this every year at every slam (except Wimbledon, because of the curfew) and nothing changes, so...

Funny to think going into the second week, there might only be 3(?) former slam champions in the draw. And there are a lot more women's slam champions around than the men. (and in the draw- not injured or having babies) . But it will be Azarenka, Ostapenko and Rybakina left?

Zhu has had a good tournament, and her match the other day in particular was great.
