I need to extol the virtues of Claudia Winkleman as a presenter....

...especially as I've come late to the Sewing Bee and am watching it from the start. She gives a masterclass in presenting:-- friendly without overdoing it; interested; gets to the point and so FUNNY. Just a word or look to the camera has me chuckling. Eg. she'll see someone making something a bit saucy and it's cheeky "ring-a-ding-ding" or " you're going to make a see-through tangerine coloured PVC top...why wouldn't you?" then does a pretend retch. Subtle and funny.
Now we have the 'look at me aren't I funny?' (no, you're not) CBEEBies type antics of Sara Pascoe and previously Joe Lycett. I cannot stand all that nonsensical skylarking that they do.
I like her on Strictly too.
i just love Claudia.
Just sayin'

I just can’t see last her awfull hairstyle. Has she got a deformed forehead or something! It’s like a fringe which has a full fringe of its own.

As it happens I think she does have the fringe to cover something. Nice to shame her for it though 🤔

I absolutely love her, shes not on enough things. As you'll see on Sewing Bee she soon leaves and the presenters get worse and worse.

She outshines the other one on Strictly.

Its not covering anything, she experimented a while back without the fringe and the eyeliner and she said she didnt even recognise herself so went back to normal.

Boomboom22 · 15/11/2022 19:38

I find her unbearable 🤣

Lottapianos · 15/11/2022 19:39

I agree OP. She's really excellent at the off the cuff stuff on Strictly - silly, larky, light touch but very slick at the same time. I love her look - it's not for me, but I love her commitment to being as orange as possible ☺️

Unfortunately I made the mistake of reading her book 'Quite' and dear oh dear, she really should stick to presenting 🤦🏻‍♂️

UWhatNow · 15/11/2022 19:43

I never quite understand the hate. Yes, she’s another nepotism free-pass but she’s undoubtedly talented, funny and self deprecating. I’d watch her every day of the week and twice on Sundays rather than twee, vacuous dipsticks like Holly and Lorraine. And definitely underrated compared to some of the male presenters…

She was on Off Menu and said she never, ever drinks water. Ever. Since then all I think about when I see her is her rancid breath and her exorcist style lips.

Makes me love her even more…

She is so normal and non judgemental

I remember a thing she did on the radio which was about snacks you find in your handbag, like half broken biscuits or chips and which ones were good to find

I forgot to mention I love her fringe because I have a cow lick and I hate it, I would love to have a fringe like that.

Floralnomad · 15/11/2022 19:48

I can’t stand her , to the point that I don’t watch anything she is on .

FleecyBlanketPerson · 15/11/2022 19:48

I think she's brilliant. Totally love her humour and sometimes I miss the point of what she's saying because I'm looking at how shiny and swishy her hair is.

I don't drink water on its own (ever) either.
I don't know how I'm still alive 🙂i must have really shit lips 😉

VinoDino · 15/11/2022 19:52

I bet she doesn't use Head & Shoulders on a regular basis.

declutteringmymind · 15/11/2022 19:52

I love her, the fringe, the eyeliner. She owns it and she doesn't take herself too seriously.

GreekDogRescue · 15/11/2022 19:53

Claudia is all about Claudia.

Pugsbladder · 15/11/2022 19:56

I find her amusing though the fringe is annoying. I absolutely loved her in The House of Tiny Tearaways with Dr Tanya Someone. I think she's a very good presenter but appreciate she's Marmite like. The one that I tire of seeing is Emma Willis. She gets so many gigs.

AppleCrumbleRumble · 15/11/2022 19:59

I read she has the fringe to cover up a squint
I just get sick of seeing the same old faces on TV presenting all the shows several times a week. Their little habits and mannerisms start to irk me because they are always on bloody TV. We need fresh blood, new talents and not more of sons and daughters of other celebs. Open the gates up for talented diverse people!

bellac11 · 15/11/2022 20:05

She doesnt have a squint, you only have to look at the many many pictures of her without her fringe to know that.

EvilRingahBitch · 15/11/2022 20:06

I love her, but sort of miss her being on It Takes Two. The live format gave her lots of space to be herself and build a real rapport with the contestants. The side-kick role on the main show is more high profile but a bit more constrained.

maroonhaze · 15/11/2022 20:09

I love her. She's very funny and a natural lovely presenter.
Her fringe and eyeliner are iconic.

I think Joe and Sara are also great on Sewing Bee though.

Gingercatlover · 15/11/2022 20:10

I love her, she's hilarious.
I read that she has the fringe long to cover an eye problem of some sort, but obviously don't know if that's true?
I love her hair anyhow Smile

Choconut · 15/11/2022 20:13

I love her. Can't stand Joe, his voice really grates on me, Sara is ok.

NashvilleQueen · 15/11/2022 20:17

I love her. She never takes herself seriously and yet is incredibly good at what she does. I am sure I read an interview when she said that the look (hair and eyeliner) is based on Chrissie Hynde. I like how she takes the piss out of herself being orange.

AppleCrumbleRumble · 15/11/2022 20:17

She reminds me of Gina Colangelo without the fringe.
