I've only got boring diabetic snacks to offer on the dead-gerbil-bench, I'm afraid.
But, on the plus side, that does mean I won't be making inroads into everybody else's.
And I can be fairly scathing about weepers, especially ones who work themselves up by going on about said dead loved one, then snap right out of it when asking for votes.

I've been trying to contact Hamza telepathically warning him not to turn CC (because let's face it, it's usually CC when the sobfest occurs) into a maudlin whine. He doesn't need to do it for the votes and I shall be cross if he does.

@LaMarschallin and don't forget that every single dead person mentioned lived for Strictly whilst still on this mortal coil. I always go "Really? REALLY?" at that point.

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit I think that was it with Bryan- I can't remember which of the two years it was, but I do remember thinking the overly invested poster might actually be his mother! I've just googled him again to see what it was that icked me about him- it's his eyes being too far down his head. #sorrynotsorry.

Re tipping point- Arlene going for me.

I quite fancied him, but his eyes were a bit odd its true, but I always was a sucker for "the curtain hairstyle"

I looked him up not long ago, he has a baby son.

Brian always reminded me of a Thunderbird character. Pretty. But in a kind of animation way only. Not like Kai. Handsome and practical. I don’t think Brian would unblock the toilet. (Sorry Mrs Fortuna)

@SolInvictus i’d imagined Hamza’s CC VT could have a focus on his immigrant experience? Or maybe even challenging stereotypes about modern Africa/Sudan? I’m certainly hoping for more joy than sob story. Done well this could be his Rapper’s Delight.

Re the sob stories, I can't help wondering if nowadays the BBC is guiding the discourse behind the scenes - encouraging the celebs to come up with this kind of thing to manipulate votes. What each contestant says seems to follow a familiar pattern, like a script. I think it's why I don't feel as engaged as I used to with each individual and their "journey" -- they each seem to have been neatly packaged up and presented to us with a dripfeed of information to tick certain boxes for the benefit of the viewing public.

It's a bit like what happened with Blind Date on ITV years ago -- the early shows were such fun, the later ones were just people trotting out well-rehearsed lines that didn't even seem to fit them.

Am I just fantasising imagining things or did Nikita wear them for one of his and Ellie's ballroom numbers?

Kai wore tails last year in his and AJ’s quickstep.

Just looked it up and no, I made up the tails! But he wears black bow tie. It's their quickstep to Peppy and George. It was a fab routine; pure showbiz.
They wuz robbed.

AJ wore my favourite ever Strictly dress to dance that quickstep. I have just watched it again. The bounce in her step!

@FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge i think it might be my favourite Strictly dance of all time. A quickstep to Sing Sing Sing was always my dream Strictly dance if I was ever to be on it (as if) and they did it perfectly.

Me too @ChessieFL the music, the dress and the dance filled my little old stone heart with joy, it blew me away. I think I wasn’t so struck on the arm pom-poms at the time but watching back now I disagree with myself.

I think I would kill for that dress (if they made it in a bigger size) 😁
