BG is in a tricky position. Compassion is a big thing in Buddhism - it will get stretched to the limit with MH. After all, BG has relied on the compassion and forgiveness of others to be able to come back from his own massive "mistakes'. It might seem hypocritical to not cut MH some slack. Obviously this would depend on how humble and repentant MH is, or whether he just thinks he's not done anything wrong or if he has, that a few sad faces and tears around the campfire will be enough to make us all think 'oh actually he's a really nice guy'.

I think I won't be alone in feeling very uncomfortable watching this. I think ITV have underestimated the collective PTSD that many still suffer over Covid and the whole pandemic. It's still being processed and its effects are still being felt. It's not all MH's fault of course but he is, to many, one of the main 'faces' who symbolises incompetence and betrayal.

I haven't watched for a couple of years so have forgotten, but do more camp mates arrive during the series or is this it?

I have a feeling the camp will have been spoken to and told that a controversial camp mate is arriving and not to give them a hard time as it will reflect badly on them (when imo it will reflect badly if they welcome him).

My impression of MH is that he's creepy as hell and I definitely have major beef with the government's handling of the pandemic (I believe lockdowns were a collosal error, so maybe a different kind of anger than some people feel?) And of course the hypocrisy of his affair, an affront and vindication to lockdown sceptics like me, however if I was in there I'd probably give him the benefit of the doubt. He's going to face an onslaught in the trials, he wouldn't need anything from campmates to worsen the atmosphere.

Off the bat I'd be more suspicious of SW, I've read extracts of his ex's book and he was clearly a nasty piece of work. I'd be wary but again, would probably see how he is in there.
