Just binge watched them all on Netflix, wow it’s so amazing I can’t believe I missed it when it was originally on!

has anyone else watched this?

didldidi · 20/10/2022 18:52

Yes it’s very good

CaptainMyCaptain · 20/10/2022 18:52

Yes. I was glad I won't be having any more children and have already had a hysterectomy.

SequinsandStilettos · 20/10/2022 18:53

Yes. Remember it well. I can also recommend the book, which Jed wrote first.

ageingdisgracefully · 20/10/2022 18:54

Yes. It's brilliant - best thing he's ever done for TV imho (although I'm a committed LOD fan too).

Runningnewbie · 20/10/2022 18:54

Ooh @SequinsandStilettos I didn’t know that! I’m going to have to order it now!

What did you make of the ending? Did Rob get the all clear did you think?!

Dangermouse80 · 20/10/2022 18:55

Just finished this was so good I didn't want it to end.

Albgo · 20/10/2022 18:58

The end was so frustrating! I usually don't mind ambiguous endings (especially in books), but this drove me nuts!!!

Runningnewbie · 20/10/2022 19:00

There’s just no closure is there! As they obviously won’t be making anymore ☹️

I couldn’t believe Donna bottling it at the end either!

Loved this. Thankful to have watched it after I'd finished having kids.

ArcticSkewer · 20/10/2022 19:11

And all the subsequent maternity scandals ... I always think of this programme.

Oneearringlost · 20/10/2022 19:12

Almost perfect television.
Watched it years ago, never forgotton.

BaconandCheese · 20/10/2022 19:13

Also watch Cardiac Arrest, another Jed cracker

nocoolnamesleft · 20/10/2022 19:15

Cardiac Arrest was his first, and greatest. The episode where the doctor is desperately trying to get a chance to go to the loo is a classic. And features possibly the only known instance of an NHS manager doing something practical and useful.

Albgo · 20/10/2022 19:16

BaconandCheese · 20/10/2022 19:13

Also watch Cardiac Arrest, another Jed cracker

@BaconandCheese do you know where its available to watch please?

BaconandCheese · 20/10/2022 19:20

@BaconandCheese do you know where its available to watch please?

pretty sure its all Youtube, just looked and they’ve got Series 1 as a whole episode

Snowdrops369 · 20/10/2022 19:26

I binged this last year and agree it was fantastic TV. I was shocked at how graphic it was! And also very glad that I won't be having any more babies!

user1471464218 · 20/10/2022 19:30

Also watched this in August and September and loved it. Although I wasn't keen on the ending, Rob and Polly weren't very believable as a couple and we don't know if Rob had CJD. Will be looking out for the other Jed M medical one too......

alloutofcareunits · 20/10/2022 19:33

I've rewatched this series several times, fantastic viewing and very believable having worked in the NHS and public sector all my adult life! Whitman is my favourite character

EmergencyPoncho · 20/10/2022 19:33

Yes! In covid, I hadn't seen before. Brilliant but glad I saw it AFTER having kids Confused.

TroublesComing32 · 20/10/2022 19:34

Loved it, couldn’t stop watching it, I thought Max Beesley was brilliant in it.

Reallybadidea · 20/10/2022 19:36

Watched this for the second time recently. Frighteningly realistic in the main. The annoying ending to LoD is less surprising when you've watched the finale of Bodies.

Runningnewbie · 20/10/2022 20:34

@alloutofcareunits Whitman was amazing! A swimming pool shaped like a vag 😆 such an awful character but I loved his relationship with Polly

OP posts:
Yesthatismychildsigh · 20/10/2022 20:36

I saw it when first on, loved it so much I bought the dvd.

alloutofcareunits · 20/10/2022 20:46

@Runningnewbie yes, so many great lines from him, I loved when the HR woman tried to get him for harassment but it was his daughter! Some really tender moments with Polly, he genuinely cared about her

Iwouldlikesomecake · 20/10/2022 20:52

I watched it when I was training as a midwife 😬
