Series 2 starts tonight on BBC 1 but I've just spotted all episodes are on iPlayer already. I loved the first series, is anyone else watching?

Yay - I am enjoying the series, glad it's been renewed

Just watched series 2 and then watched series 1 again
god they are an immoral bunch
I’m just at the scene where Rob comes
close to a 3 some with Yasmine and harper

is it bad that I sometimes want to be a 20 something drugged up sex friend again

Oooh I'm glad there's a series 3. Because in my head I'm not a middle age mum of 2 living in the country with frizzy hair trying my best.

After watching this im 23 wearing a silk shirt ignoring all the horrible stuff around me but prancing around London and other European capitals wearing beautiful pencil skirts and lovely shirts.

I loved the series and I find it pretty realistic but I’m thinking more pre - financial crisis. I’ve worked in several of the big banks they keep name dropping, over the last 3 decades. I know a Rishi - a foul mouthed (and minded) but genius swaps trader who made enough money in ten years to retire for life. I’ve met a Yasmin, though in this case her main motivation was to find a rich trader (presumably to replace a rich daddy). Eric is a great copy of your typical seasoned desk head. Total shark but wise. Rob is old school London broker type, definitely a dying breed as the talent mostly comes from overseas these days. Hardly any from the posh U.K. schools either. Venetia is the new snowflake gen who are frankly horrified by everything and that’s now, they would never have coped in the 90s when it was pre #metoo and generally Neanderthal on the floor.
They got the technical jargon pretty spot on on the show. Insider trading is a serious crime - bank employees endure endless conduct risk training - especially in London under the FCA - and Harper would have faced severe penalties and possibly prison, I expect Eric was giving her a clean exit but also she is not to be trusted. There is simply no way someone that smart would not have known she was breaking the rules, so that bit of the storyline didn’t stack up for me. Overall though, the dynamism and the politicking and plotting, all bang on. It’s a great environment to work in - you never get bored ;-)

That is interesting and depressing @fecksinthecity.

That kind of world is totally alien to me. I couldn't relate to any of the rather unlikeable and deeply unpleasant characters. Everyone seemd so self absorbed and out for their own personal gain.

In a way, I felt like a voyeur watching it because it was so unrelatebale. And I admit that most of the jargon went over my head.

I still enjoyed it in a horribly fascinated kind of way.

It’s not that bad - in the real world there are enough nice/normal people to dilute the toxic people that the show portrays. But nice/normal people don’t make good TV …

Just seen the release date for series 3 in the uk, 1st October on iPlayer. That date ties in with all episodes being released in the US (currently 1 per week).

I have been binging Industry over Xmas
and on Season 2 now, I can't stop watching it, don't really get or understand what's going on in that way it reminds me of Billions. Can't decide if I like any of them, it all seems so cut throat!
