Anyway, as it says in the thread title. New series starts tonight.

Agree with the feeling that the showstoppers were way too pawed to be eaten, but then if you watch a lot of the shows where they do huge creations of chocolate and cake it's always the same, I'd never want to eat it 😷 Just want a cake or biscuit that's come out of the tin/try and had very little contact with fingers!

Rebs is annoying me with her 90s lip liner.

I am still fuming over putting chocolate on a Garibaldi. Honestly, where does Pru get off, mocking the contestants that didn't feather 'properly' - there shouldn't been any blooming chocolate feathers, how the hell were they to know what inaccurate and inappropriate decoration you had dreamed up in your sick mind?! Grrrrrr.

Funny. I googled to see if chocolate garibaldis was a thing and found more outrage 😂

I don’t particularly mind them adding it as a skill demonstration, especially as she said “this isn’t normal for garibaldi biscuits but we wanted to get them to show more skills”. Would have been annoyed if she hadn’t admitted that up front.

But I think it was pretty harsh to mark the two “feather makers” down so much for that - especially as English isn’t their first language. It’s no coincidence that it’s people with a slight extra language barrier who didn’t get the terminology. I guess to some extent they have to be able to understand baking terminology to do well, but it seemed a bit over harsh - especially Syabira whose biscuits were not terrible, and the “incorrect” feather was very well done!

I laughed til I cried at the real feathers, so sweet!

It’s usually announced at the end of each episode what the next theme is. The first three weeks are always the same every year though - cakes then biscuits then bread.

Do we know how they are filming it this year as the last two years they've all been in a bubble the whole time but I can't imagine that they've don't that this year

Pizza is a pants choice for bread week. They had it Liam's year and Pru claimed to never have heard of having a dip for pizza. Not sure I've forgiven her.
