DOC MARTIN - Final series

Looking forward to the first episode of the last ever series of Doc Martin. Starts at 9pm tonight on ITV. Anyone else watching?

It's so out of character for Martin to have ever lived with a girlfriend in his twenties. When he and Louisa first got together he was so painfully awkward around women (still is) so I think it was a shock for Louisa and us viewers that he'd lived with a woman before.

Doc M is a highlight of my week. And now I am going to have to re-watch every series for patient names!

Louisa is wearing some lovely knitwear in this series.

I was guffawing at Mrs T and her friend kayaking.

James making the plane ticket and packing a case for Mary…. Can you imagine Louisa’s post in Parenting?

I'm so glad they haven't mentioned the pandemic or built the series around it any way (so far). The writers obviously appreciate the viewers want escapism from all that crap.

So glad Penhale and Janice seem to be back on! And fun spotting the names last night - Robin Banks, and Jean Simmonds! ( name of actress who played Martin's mum years ago. His mum got a mention in last night's episode.)

What was the deal with Louisa's dad? Was he really just a crook after his loot or did he genuinely think he was dying?

I think he genuinely thought he was dying, he wouldn’t have been let out of prison unless the prison doctors had thought he was terminal.

But he was reclaiming his loot before he got his reprieve…

Think it was Claire Bloom who played his mum. But Jean Simmons was also a beautiful actress from the 40s and 50s.

I've been to the village and been outside the house, it's like Piccadilly Circus with all us tourists getting our photos taken outside.
Not sure why anyone would want that outside your house constantly?

I think there is 15 years difference in age between the actors. I'm not sure what ages the characters are meant to be.

This week's episode was brilliant. Only one more episode to go and then no more Doc, no more Portwenn!

Wonder if Mrs Tishell will burn her house down with her Doc Martin shrine?

There is a Christmas special to finish it all, though.

I don’t want them to leave. I am enjoying it, but it’s lacking a bit of the humour and crazy. It’s on bit of a wind down.
