So have i missed an episode?

Poor Leo, it’s a horrible storyline reminds me of that lad who disappeared. Actually if this goes the same way I won’t be watching any more. Bad taste

It's just horrible and unnecessary

Why didn't Leo keep the information to himself instead of goading Stephen

PrincessScarlett · 26/09/2022 21:04

Just saying to DH this reminds me of the Corrie McKeague disappearance. Really really bad taste doing the storyline like that. I hope they warned the family as if I was a relative I would be really upset right now.

SpinCityBlue · 26/09/2022 21:05

Oh ffs. This Leo story really isn't necessary on Corrie.

I think it's the death of Corrie McKeague that we're thinking of. Still technically an open (and understandably raw) case I believe.

JemimaTab · 26/09/2022 21:06

It’s all just so over the top isn’t it. A little back street in Manchester and we’ve had a near-fatal heart attack of a young man, a shooting, and now a murder, all in just over a week.
It’s not like it used to be, that’s for sure.

woodhill · 26/09/2022 21:08

Glad Evelyn walked out of the charity shop

Also don't want the aftermath of Leo with Jenny

I wanted her to go, now it will be another repeat of Jonny

thenightsky · 26/09/2022 21:19

Had to google Corrie McKeague. Awful if they've copied that! Sad

PrincessScarlett · 26/09/2022 21:23

I think there will be a few complaints about tonight's episode. They could have had Stephen killing Leo in many many other ways that didn't involve a bin. What's the betting he's going to dump the body in the sink hole, it's been mentioned again for a reason.

Poor Jenny losing Johnny and now Leo in the space of a year.

Neverfullycharged · 26/09/2022 21:25

Jenny will have forgotten Leo by Halloween!

But honestly, what next? A block of flats on rosamund street setting on fire? A man with a gun going into Bessie street? A terrorist attack at a pop concert? It’s awful taste.

Fiddlersgreen · 26/09/2022 23:08

@NCTDN no I don’t think so, the last one I saw was Kelly leaving too

eggandonion · 26/09/2022 23:37

I hoped leo was alive and well and in the pub. Or that Stephen was having a bad dream, asleep in the car.

GrasssInPocket · 27/09/2022 00:51

woodhill · 25/09/2022 19:18

Ahh but she bought it back recently when her father died so she should say

"Get ahht of ma 'Ouse" like Peggy Mitchell

Ah, I forgot about that. She does put up with a lot in that case!

Thanks. I just didn't seem to follow on at all.

lollipoprainbow · 27/09/2022 07:20

I really am bored to tears of it all now, drippy Leo good riddance, annoying Jenny, weird Stephen, the charity shop story, Bernie's cleaning, James and his heart condition, aadi who I love by the way, Gary and the police. We need some good storylines and fast !

eggandonion · 27/09/2022 08:33

I think Leo is in hospital with concussion and memory loss. Although that is unlikely since Aadi is in the bed. And Craig isn't investigating.
It is absolute rubbish, isn't it!

Ooh, that’s a good guess on the sinkhole. I thought it was just a way to involve Leo with the Platts, but it could be something more sinister.

I think they’re trying to make Jenny into the ‘tragedy queen’ figure of the show.

Watching classic Corrie in tandem with modern day Corrie really brings it home how the quality of the show has hit the floor, as previous posters have pointed out in classic the Rovers actually feels like a real pub, the staff are not just stood there idly, barrels are being changed, deliveries arriving, customers are being served, there is the hum of background noise and general hustle and bustle of the‘extras’, regular characters are in the pub in the background, they don’t need a major storyline to be there. Now the Rovers just feels like a stage set on par with Crossroads Motel, if anyone can remember that far back, no realism at all.

DahliaMacNamara · 27/09/2022 10:19

They probably brought Leo's dad back in just in time for him to blame it all on Jenny for being the town bike. You'd hope not, but the signs are all there. Ugh.

I can't quite buy the notion that Stephen was able to haul the dead weight of Leo into the back of a van.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 27/09/2022 10:29

Also where is the depth to storylines and characters? For example Adi has been shot, this would make headline news as we have sadly recently seen, residents would be in shock, but not in Weatherfield, it’s barely been mentioned by any of the other characters, Mary who pretty much is the mother figure in Adi’s life if she had been in classic would have been distraught and would have rushed to be with him, but no, she didn’t even ask how he was when she was in the corner shop, just stupidly whittered on about her play and don’t get me started on Pirate day, unfunny and ridiculous. And yes the body in the bin is incredibly insensitive.

I don't understand why he put him in the van at all, unless it's an attempt to implicate Underworld/Carla in some way? Surely the body will be discovered as soon as Kirkie shows up for his shift and opens it?🤔
Also - wasn't that the same balcony that Tina McIntyre went off back in the day? Except I can't remember who pushed her ...

LockInAtTheFeathers · 27/09/2022 10:35

@GrasssInPocket Was it Carla's brother Rob?

urgen · 27/09/2022 10:38

Its a stupid story line. Surely someone is about especially when he was dragging the body into the van. CCTV? Someone could have used the bin whilst Stephen was waiting until dark to remove the body. Its completely unbelievable.

ajandjjmum · 27/09/2022 11:19

I didn't understand, as we saw the bin lorry going along the road, so I assumed it had been emptied (as Sarah asked). For once I was listening! So I expected Steven to find an empty bin, not the body. Such a boring storyline - it is getting very tedious at the moment.

The policeman said that his car had blocked the path of the bin lorry so they hadn't been able to get through to empty the bins. I also thought of poor Corrie McKeague when watching and find the storyline insensitive.

Yes, I think so - one of the many identikit Corrie villains! Agree with OP about it being an insensitive storyline, though. I'm sure they could have engineered a meeting between Stephen and Leo alongside the sinkhole, with a similar outcome!
