I find his voice really annoying and also artificial. I convinced myself he was likely British and putting it on but then I googled him and he is American 😱 Perhaps it’s just because an American accent sounds so incongruous in the midst of all the northern accents

Perhaps it sounds wrong because he's trying to put a Canadian slant on an American accent, with a side order of Italian.

I thought the scene with Kelly and Gary was good. It was right for Kelly to go though. She's got money, she can go and make a fresh start where no one knows her.

I think it’s a good move for the actress too. She’s young enough and has been in it for a short enough time to avoid being typecast, I would hope.

It must be bad when I’m willing Leo to put Stephen can’t stand Leo what is the point of him but if he gets rid of wimpering Stephen all will be forgiven or maybe he can go to Canada with them!

I don't mind Leo when they give him something to do other than hang around the Rovers whining about being unable to pay his way. Perfectly acceptable character with a bit of work on the go, and the nous to realise Stephen's a wrong 'un, even before he found out he'd snogged Jenny.

So is Leo going to do something that's actually interesting, and set Stephen up to be revealed as a cad; or is he going to try and blackmail him? They always sink to blackmail in soap plots. I think the writers learn it in Soap Writing School.

Among the many flaws in the Stephen storyline, one really stands out - why would Leo give a toss about Stephen sleeping in his car? He seemed to take it as a personal affront!

Why the hell didn't Stephen sneak back to Gail's house later when Leo was gone, sleeping in his car was ridiculous. And would he take off his shirt and brush his teeth on the street? Again ridiculous.

And is Stephen really supposed to sound Canadian? From which city / province is that startling combination of accent and tonal stress supposed to originate? Personally I've never heard anything like it.

I don't think Corrie has ever specified which lucky part of Canada gets the repeated vists from members of the Platt family.

Canada is a country? I assumed it was maybe a city like Monaco, from my Corrie geography. It seems fairly easy to travel to, like Milan.
Liverpool, Birmingham, London and especially Ireland are impossible to get back from. Can you go on cruise ships, favourite mode of transport. Kelly could get work as a barber on a cruise ship.

They did have an en-suite in the Platt garage conversion. I remember from when the body was buried under there and we got to see in it so i didn't understand the conversation about Gail hogging the bathroom.
