New detective series starts Sunday 17th

Murder in Provence is a three-part series based on the books by M.L. Longworth.

The series follows Antoine Verlaque, Investigating Judge in Aix-en-Provence, and romantic partner Marine Bonnet as they investigate the murders, mysteries and dark underbelly of their idyllic home. Their efforts are aided by Hélène, a detective and Antoine’s trusted confidante.

It was shown on Britbox in Feb/March this year, I haven't watched as don't have a subscription but the reviews are online.

Once again I won't get to see it as it goes out on ITV and for some reason Virgin TV in Ireland doesn't give us ITV but will probably have the show on 6 weeks later than ITV 🙄

Ooh I’ve seen two of these on Britbox, really enjoyed them.

This isn’t a spoiler, but I found it quite funny that everyone has very very French names, all pronounced in a very very French way, but every other word is English. It works, just a bit funny when an obvious Mancunian goes full on with the French pronunciation.

We tried this when it was on Britbox , mainly because we really like Nancy Carroll but unfortunately this didn’t work for us at all .

The ultra English accents are hysterical. Interspersed with French sounding names

The script is terrible.

I watched the first episode when I had a Britbox episode and thought it was really dull!

Gave up after 20mins. Really slow. Was hoping for Death in Paradise or the Mallorca Files but in France

We tried it as we love Roger Allum but it just felt so odd and fake, couldn't get on with it at all.

Shame as he's usually only ever in good things!

I don’t understand why all names are French yet they all speak in normal English accents?! Very annoying!

Except the one Italian bloke who speaks English with an Italian accent!

Not sure, the lines especially roger allams are not natural and why would two very senior people be doing the running around

It's a bit rubbish. I don't really like gentle murder type stuff. I love roger allam. He's capable of so much more.

At least we didn't spend a Britbox subscription in order to watch this earlier this year (as my parents did)!
