Not my choice of players in the final but we lost Mum in May, its a bucket list item for my Dad who is finding the loss really hard and what chance of me ever getting these tickets in the ballot again.

To be fair apart from Nadal, my favourite players at the moment were unlikely to make a final anyway.

So, the sun is shining, and we can at least say we've no idea what we are signing up to today!

So many 'what might have beens' from this year- starting from the Russian ban, Matteo getting covid , Rafa getting injured.

I doubt if the above had been different Kyrgios would be a finalist. Djok probably would still have made it, unfortunately.

I dread to think who they will replace Sue with. If they think Paddy McGuinness was a good replacement on QoS- it doesn't bode well!

Hobnobs yes perfectly summed up! I think I’ll just watch it out of curiosity - I don’t think I’ve ever watched a men’s final where I don’t really want either player to win!

Wimbledon are holding a public ballot for next year - I’m going to try to register this time (don’t think I’ve managed to do this successfully since they changed the system from sending a cheque and a self addressed envelope )

@Fizzywinegum I remember as a teenager sending away a Postsl Order as I didn't have my own cheque book 🤣. Didn't get tickets but paid £2 for general admission and saw lots of good players.

Jane it's amazing really- it really does seem to be the final that no-one excpet the most die hard Dick/Djok fans want.

The Beeb will be expecting big audiences- but it's not great when those audiences won't be tuning in for the tennis, but for the potential drama.

Looks like no one is very excited about the final - I think Nick will be nervous - being in a Grand Slam final for the first time can do strange things to a player

I can't decide if I'm going to break with tradition of 50 odd years and not bother to watch the final. It's about the first time I don't care who wins- apart from when it was Williams v Williams I

I wish the BBC would make a compilation of the invitational doubles because all I've seen are clips on Instagram.

After having to go Out and Do Things the last couple of days, I am able to watch the men’s final today although like others I’m not sure I really want to. I will though because it’s Wimbledon (and I want to see if they do anything special for Sue).

Hello folks :). Would you believe it - switched tv on and for some reason can’t get bbc1 or bbc2. Fortunately ds made the (perfectly sensible but not one that occurred to me) suggestion to put iplayer on. Phew!

I like Djok so am hoping for a win for him, and also hoping that, if Kyrgios kicks off, he will get as good as he gives!
