Jane or one of his clones Grin Over the past month or so, he's been everywhere Grin

Blueberrycreampie · 09/07/2022 14:38

It's sad that Ons' parents can't get a visa to see their daughter play in the Wimbledon final!

😁😁😁 I think it's the clone. The one who looks better in a suit and can sit still without being weird for 2 hours

I love Kate's dress she really stands out in the Royal Box

AndJabeurDancing · 09/07/2022 14:39

I want Jabeur because she is such an inspiration, especially to woman in the Arab world. I'm sure I read somewhere that as a child she learnt in hotel tennis courts as her local club didn't have their own.

GrouchyKiwi · 09/07/2022 14:40

Argh, what a shame that Rybakina's game has fallen apart. I want a good, strong match. Take the second set, Elena!

absolutelynotfabulous · 09/07/2022 14:44

I want a proper match too. I thought Rybakina's serve woujd be the dominant factor but evidently not (yet at least)

Fizzywinegum · 09/07/2022 14:44

Grin Hmm

I don’t even know who I want to win tomorrow - they should just bring Rafa back and give him the trophy!

IceandIndigo · 09/07/2022 14:45

Ons coping better with the heat I think.

Fizzywinegum · 09/07/2022 14:45

Sorry that was supposed to be in reply to And - it didn’t really work Hmm

Raahh · 09/07/2022 14:50

Unfortunately, the womens' finals in the 15 years or so, have had a tendency to be one sided. Last year's was the first in nearly 10 years to go to 3 sets.

FIzzy my only reason (if I had to choose) for a Nick win tomorrow, would be to stop Djok catching up with Rafa in the slam count.
But I really can't stand him, and still think he should have been chucked out last week.

And if Djok wins he will do the arm thing, and be unbearably smug.

JaneJeffer · 09/07/2022 14:50

In my mind Rafa v Taylor was the final.

Yes I read this and agree!

Raahh · 09/07/2022 14:51

I do think Elena takes longer to settle into a match- so this might not be a straightforward one..

Raahh · 09/07/2022 14:53

Jane it had all the elements of a final- and went to the wire.Had a great come-back, drama. So yes, that can be our final GrinIt was even on the anniversary of Rafa beating Roger in 2008.

Isn’t Djokovic’s thing to eat the grass or something?

I suppose it doesn’t clash with any of his healthy eating beliefs at least…

Fizzywinegum · 09/07/2022 15:06

Yes TheOnly - hope he doesn’t eat any of the grass that the sniffer dogs have been on! He’s a strange one!

Raahh · 09/07/2022 15:07

TheOnly he does the 'love me' arm gesture to the crowd when he wins a match. And he does eat the grass.
But he's not the GOAT Wink

JaneJeffer · 09/07/2022 15:08

I think Djok needs a new celebration where he gives two fingers to the crowd for booing him. Would be great.

OP posts:
Raahh · 09/07/2022 15:09

Fizzywe say every year that he might eat the grass the sniffer dog has been on Grin

I mean, the grass has had shoes all over it any way Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 09/07/2022 15:09

Instead of being desperate for approval, Djok needs to lean into the panto villain role. I'd like him more if he did.

This is more of a struggle, this set.

Raahh · 09/07/2022 15:10

Well, another topsy turvy women's match to finish the fortnight seems fair.

Raahh · 09/07/2022 15:11

Grouchy it worked for Medvedev - he was in real bother in the US Open in 2019- by the end of the tournament, they loved him .

The panto villain thing works well for him.

Raahh · 09/07/2022 15:14

Elena has got the measure of Ons now.

So it will all come down to nerves in the final set now.

I'm glad it's not a quick match.

I do still want Ons to win, but am glad Elena is making a match of it.
