Anyone watched the new episode of Hotel Inspector?

im a big fan of Alex but couldn’t understand why she started yelling and shouting at the owners. She’s been critical but supportive in previous episodes, especially the earlier ones with lockdown owners

we don't need more shouty twats like Ramsey modelling bullying behaviours as entertainment.

Agree. He's a vile, arrogant, misogynistic, nasty piece of work.

She is incredibly sexy though!

Yes. She’s my girl crush. But I’d have to had words with her after the way she spoke to that couple.

MindPalace · 19/06/2022 16:48

Maybe she was told to be like that. I’m sure there’ll be more people watching this because you posted - if she hadn’t been horrible, and you hadn’t posted, no one new to the programme on MN would have watched (not criticising you at all btw! I can understand why you commented). Bullying makes ‘good’ tv unfortunately. I used to watch it. Shame if she’s become mean to the owners.

JellyBellyNelly · 19/06/2022 16:59

it was my first thought when I watched the episode. It didn’t even sound very natural. It came across as contrived. She shouldn’t have done it though. The couple were very nice.

Words · 19/06/2022 17:05

They're worried about ratings, I guess.

Daisyroseandhyacinth · 19/06/2022 17:12

I was quite shocked and was cringing. However the couple seemed to really buck up their ideas after that and turned things around. I hope it doesn’t happen again. That couple were on their knees and I felt really sorry for them.
Its either the producer or a one off.
she did say she doesn’t normally talk to people like that.

bro101 · 20/06/2022 10:02

I reckon they are hoping air a series in the US. Posh English lady being angry and swearing 😂😂

bro101 · 20/06/2022 10:03

I thought they would be better selling up and opening a restaurant or takeaway service.

Daisyroseandhyacinth · 20/06/2022 12:16

In the earlier series she used to swear constantly. I do find her use of ‘darling’ very very condescending. It’s all so precious.

Though it was interesting that OP said that the rooms were the real spinner in terms of margin. Worth getting them sorted out. And the deal with the contractors would be good.

bro101 · 20/06/2022 12:37

Ah yes they did. Forgot about that bit.

CosmopolitanPlease · 24/06/2022 09:39

I love her but she did seem extra ragey. She's my age so I'm going to cut her some slack. She reminded me of myself before I got HRT or when I took period delay tablets recently. DH was lucky to survive the weekend. 😂

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/06/2022 20:34

I love her but I thought she looked really tired in this episode, perhaps she had zero patience! Episode 2 was much better.

OnTheBoardwalk · 30/06/2022 22:34

i can absolutely get her going off on one tonight!

Mum2jenny · 30/06/2022 22:36

Watched last weeks episode and thought it was good. Not watched tonight’s tho

She’s aged a lot in recent years. She looks positively haggard now.

Kittyshopping · 02/07/2022 17:36

Just catching up. I thought Alex said what needed to be said. The place was filthy. There’s no excuse. I can spot dirt at a thousand paces and have found it in 5 star hotels, no less.

I would make a good Hotel Inspector apprentice, lol.

FootontheHeartbreak · 02/07/2022 17:59

The owners of this weeks hotel are going to go bust very quickly . Either before or after one of them has a heart attack or a breakdown.

Lurleene · 02/07/2022 18:08

Alex couldn't win with them this week, they weren't interested in hearing anything she had to say. If their big ambition in life was to have a Michelin star then they should have concentrated on the restaurant business not bought a 22 room hotel.

I did like the Isle of Wight family on last week, they took on board all the advice and worked really hard to implement it. I hope they turn things around.

Agree. All credit to the Isle of Wight owners. Despite their bereavement they really put their backs into turning things around.

dillite · 07/07/2022 21:57

I am watching tonight's episode and am finding it utterly infuriating that the owners have called her in and then have proceeded (ok, the husband has) to fight her all the way. There's a reason she's there and it's not because the owners are doing amazingly well FFS!

JaceLancs · 07/07/2022 22:19

Not watched any yet - but Alex is my girl crush too!
I met her briefly when she was filming the Italy series years ago and I was on holiday near where they were filming - she was genuinely lovely and seemed to be having a good laugh with the rest of the crew

OnTheBoardwalk · 07/07/2022 23:05

I liked tonight’s episode and agree the husband was really annoying

i loved the fact she told him that due to the him being an arse she was only doing one of the dining rooms

Why buy a building that was built solely due to a gambling win and built with all sorts of references to playing cards and then freak out about a picture of a playing card being put on the wall.

Mind does boggle! The owners never seem to see that they need to do what will draw rhe customers in, not what they like. I don't care how nice your establishment might be. If it looks like your nan died in it in 1979 and her embalmed body might be lurking under the bed, I am not booking it. And if you have designers designing for you, you grab that opportunity with both hands and squeeze everything out of it you can.
