The production team decide who should be in the bottom two by how they edit the programme. At some point they will ensure that one of the most popular boys/girls are in the bottom three so they are likely to be voted off. Meanwhile the rest of the islanders will appear shocked and realise they are all vulnerable. Its a very predictable format really. I can't imagine ever being invested enough to spend money voting for this show. I'm too cynical and old for it probably.

Not sure if people noticed the vote on which islander you'd rather go for a drink with? Essentially a trial run for who's your favourite islander. The app is frequently used to test the public mood before a real vote is launched.
