What to watch with 10 year old boy that won't drive me bananas?

He would watch Lego Ninjago, Captain Underpants or Where's Wally ad nauseam. Also some quite young series with DD (e.g. Octonauts). He does have SEN and is quite socially immature.
So far I've got him to like The Inbestigators and Merlin, we like various films but really looking for a series.
He didn't like Dengineers, he'll watch the odd bit of Blue Peter and we have a regular Newsround slot but a lot of other things have not been popular (with one or other of us).

Mine like...
Operation Ouch
Dodger
Ghosts (although some goes over her head)
Dr Who (and Sarah Jane Adventures dvds)
Horribke Histories
Malory Towers (but this might be a bit "girly" for some boys)

Caramac555 · 01/05/2022 19:52

My ds10, who is also socially immature due to autism, is into Hilda and Teen titans and/or teen titans go on netflix.

I'm afraid none of these are educational, however they are better than the youtube muppets

Caramac555 · 01/05/2022 19:54

Also, we have the captain underpants books, so I understand what you've been through

NarcissasMumintheDoghouse · 01/05/2022 19:56

Monster Quest. My SEN 11-y-o loves it. It is documentary, so factual enough to be educational, but has the cryptid vibe too.
Also, Finding Bigfoot - HowOOOOOOWooooWooooo.

giftswap2021 · 01/05/2022 19:56

Is it cake?

yoshiblue · 01/05/2022 19:58

Baking Impossible on Netflix - a mix of baking and engineering challenges

pizzaand · 01/05/2022 19:59

I quite like teen titans 😂 there's definitely some humour thrown in for adults and I normally hate cartoons

lljkk · 01/05/2022 20:01

Another vote for Teen Titans.

My youngest likes Monty Python of all things.

FromOurHatsToOurFeet · 01/05/2022 20:04

Ghosts
The Goes Wrong Show (iplayer or Peter Pan is on YouTube)
Johnny Test (much better than teen titans!)
Penguins of Madagascar

Dontlickthetrolley · 01/05/2022 20:05

Henry Danger / Danger Force / The Thundermans are the ones that don't annoy me!

Teen titans and gumball really annoy me 🤣🤣, We Bare Bears isn't too bad either for a cartoon.

FuzzyPenguin · 01/05/2022 20:08

Another vote for ‘is it cake’ that was a surprising hit in our house.

battle bots is also good

withacherryonthetop · 01/05/2022 20:08

Mine also likes teen titans but it drives me mad. He liked the loud house for a bit which I didn’t mind as much. He also likes Britain’s got talent which I don’t love but definitely don’t mind watching

PhilFlute · 01/05/2022 20:09

Young Sheldon

Comedycook · 01/05/2022 20:13

Jamie Johnson
The dumping ground

LunaLoveFood · 01/05/2022 20:15

Ds 10 has autism and is immature and has recently started to watch Top Gear, especially some of the older ones.

RishiRich · 01/05/2022 20:18

Deadly 60 on iPlayer
The Floor is Lava (Netflix?)
Teen Titans Go
Miraculous
Mr Bean

All the above are acceptable. I've also got 9yo DD watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

GibbonsGoatsGibbons · 01/05/2022 20:20

Dr Who (9/10/11 - we haven't watched the more recent stuff)
A Series of Unfortunate Events
king julien /penguins- both Madagascar spin offs

UrslaB · 01/05/2022 20:27

The simpsons on Disney+. A life saver when I am watching my younger cousins. Age 7 to 15, they will all watch it and I quite enjoy it too.

Also the Descendents on Disney+ has entertained a lot of my little cousins.

Avatar the last airbender or legend of Korra was on Netflix and may still be, its good.

Dr Who is a classic go to and on BBC Iplayer.

Just watch Harry Potter?

When working with autists who were into superheroes I found a few of them enjoyed the the live action shows like "The Flash" from the CW. Family friendly and good enough CGI. The other CW shows like supergirl, Legends of tomorrow, batwoman etc they weren't keen on.

Sprig1 · 01/05/2022 20:29

Mine likes Police Interceptors, Traffic Cops, great British Bake Off and Britain's Got Talent.

Isitcake · 01/05/2022 20:29

Jurassic world camp Cretaceous is awesome.

Oddfood · 01/05/2022 20:32

Hilda is good
things like ninja warrior
blue planet /other nature documentaries junior bake off
operation ouch /pets factor-most of the factual stuff on cbbc is pretty good
you’ve been framed is a guilty pleasure!

savehannah · 01/05/2022 20:32

If you have Disney plus try The World According to Jeff Goldblum. Quirky documentaries, only 30 mins long. My kids liked it and also entertaining for adults.

drspouse · 01/05/2022 20:35

I don't think he'd like Is It Cake and I hated Henry Danger but some other things to try here!
We have watched all of Sarah Jane and a few Christopher Ecclestone Doctor Who but after The Empty Child they are both traumatised!

Malcolm in the Middle! On Disney.
We all loved it! So funny.

Topbird29 · 01/05/2022 20:38

Does he like using lego? Lego masters ( think on e4 catch up) is good. Lego building competition. Teams of 2 have to build something different each week based on a theme or challenge. A team usually gets sent home each week until just 3 teams left in the final. There is an Australian series and a US series on catch up (think 2 series of each). if too long to watch in one go, could maybe split down. My 7 and 10 year old both like it. They also watch ninjago and teen titans.
