I know Kylie is a sacred cow, but did anyone else think she was crap on Jools Holland's Hootenanny?

She may make great pop records but a sultry piano-top chanteuse she ain't...She just doesn't have a great voice, which is fine for what she usually does, but not much else.

Yes Macca was excruciating to watch! Just exactly like someone's embarrassing dad that they wished they hadn't brought.

Kate Nash was great - I was amazed how good she was live.

I though Kylie was wonderful - she came across to me as being warm, genuine and very human and all those qualities were also in her voice.

Kept thinking how awful that dress would look on me. Such an unforgiving style.

I thought she looked older - both on this progamme and on Doctor Who. Her face certainly looked more rounded and nicely worn in. So am surprised to read about the botox - Sincerely hope she doesn't do a Michael Jackson. I think she looks great and there is much more character to her face and voice as the years go by.

Yes, I quite like Kate Nash.

I don't dislike kylie, and I do kind of admire her staying power but she was dreadful on hootananny, the duet with Paul McCartney was spectacularly awful. I totally agree that she is ok churning out 'pop hits' but her voice is very weak and she's certainly not the 'I can sing anything' performer some would like her to be.

You have no idea how glad I am to find other people who cannot stand Paul McCartney. If he could marry himself I think he would, I have never seen anyone who comes across as more self satisfied than this man. I love John Sim but I was cringing when he was massaging 'sir Paul's' already enormously massive ego. Why do they have to do it?? It's like it's a law or something, 'ALL MUST HAIL THE GREATLY WONDEROUS SIR PAUL F'ING McCARTNEY'

I just don't get it.

Mika was amzing live, hate him on the radio but he can really sing and is a great performer. I was also really suprised at Kate Nash, who has also always annoyed me intensely on the radio. Being able to hear the lyrics properly made quite a difference though and I was impressed at how good she was live.

Thought hootananny was pretty good on the whole, although I knew it was pre-recorded (-David Tennant fan- knew he'd filmed this already and would be at Billie Piper's wedding)

Kylie has a pretty average voice and her songs are almost exclusively crap. Very bland and unmemorable - that goes for her and the songs. She also has little allure or charisma IMO.

I'm not a great fan of Kylie, or indeed pop music on the whole, but I thought she was pretty good.

She exuded warmth and charm and looked absobloodylutely fantastic in that frock!

3andnomore · 13/01/2008 00:39

actually, I think Kylie has reverted backwards big style...she is putting that sweet little Kid voice again...which I would have thought she really has grown out off...whilst..." I should be so lucky" may were biggish hits in them days...I really don't think they are going to get big now...or songs that style....all blinking dh saw when he watched that programme was, that she isn't as tiny as she used too...which peed me off...because, well, she still has a figure I would desire, lol....so, now wondering what he really thinks of me....

Wuxiapian · 13/01/2008 01:23

Yes, her figure is to die for!

Just a shame she's messed about with her face.
