Oh yes, their characters are definitely like chalk and cheese and you'd never put them together, although Cain has pretty much had a dalliance with everyone else!

Rhona and Cain in real life are absolutely wonderful together. Jeff is so different from Cain it's insane. During lockdown when CBBC were doing home schooling programmes they did a programme all about gardening and growing fruit and veg. It was magic.

I remember that. They were great.

On why they did the plot, Kate went on: "Given the fact the world was going through a really tough time with Covid and everything, we also wanted to give viewers a bit of escapism."

I would argue that it was the complete opposite of escapism!
