DOCTORS- Patronising Princess is causing trouble at'Mill - and will we ever find out what happened to Dr Ashdown?

Raahh · 14/04/2022 13:43

In answer to the question- probably not.

But I'm still hoping that we find out Princess was behind his disappearance. The episode with her mother pointed to a shady past.

And the drugs that Heston took were called Viper, i have remembered.
(Kept me awake, that did)

Fuzzy thank you- unfortunately it was not good news. There are about 3 of us from the primary in the boat, found out today. It's been really tough. DD2 isn't that fussed (at the moment)- I am, because academically the school we've been given is dreadful, and my older 2 had the chance of somewhere semi decent, it's not fair she won't get the same chance.

Oh, I'm sorry Raahh, that is a real blow. Did any of the others get in? Will you be on the waiting list?

Raahh · 16/05/2022 21:03

There is a waiting list- and we are 8th, which is not too bad. I don't know of anyone who got through that appeal- I think it was deliberate (really awful woman on the appeal panel who was incredibly sniffy about the area we live in).

I'm trying to be positive (dd2 has a hospital appointment tomorrow, and DD1 has her first GCSE exam).

But it is really gutting.

Yes, I can imagine. My DD has her first GCSE tomorrow too, nervous times. DS has A levels starting next week.

Raahh · 16/05/2022 21:11

Especially good luck to your dd and ds. After the last 2 years, I feel for them doing exams- DD1 seems to have just done endless mocks, and already has 'exam fatigue' .

I kind of resent how much time the appeals process has taken up - it has spoilt the last couple of months, and made me really ill. We didn't have to do it for Ds and DD1, so it's been stressful.

DD2 is a much more laid back sort than her mother Grin - she's sick of everyone at her primary school and doesn't care where she goes!

(Sorry for the hi-jack- we're off to the hosptial tomorrow, so I can waffle about medical things thenGrin).

Smile she has coped with a lot your DD2, it's great that she's taking it in her stride. I remember when I was appealing DS's EHCP, that completely took over my life too.

Raahh · 16/05/2022 21:32

It's horrible- and I really feel for the others who are in the same situation, because they (and their dc) are really upset by it all. At least DD2 is ok about it.

If only (20 years ago) I had stuck with just me and my house rabbit, I'd have none of this stress Grin

It's certainly a steep learning curve this parenting business. But if we hadn't had DC we might not have found MN Grin

Just starting today's episode now. I'm not keen on Scarlett's jacket.

JustDanceAddict · 17/05/2022 08:01

@Raahh - sorry to hear about the school. If you’re 8th on the list that is promising - I know kids who have had ‘the call’ at the start of Sept. Hang in there!

FuzzyPuffling · 17/05/2022 08:35

Oh Raahh sorry about the current school situation, but 8th on the list sounds like a fighting chance to me.
Two things I remember...
DD1 was 45th on the list for a decent secondary school ( and offered a place at a distant, crappy school). She moved up the list and got the place of choice. It took a few weeks.
And now my children are in their 30s, this is all a very distant memory that doesn't matter at all!

This too will pass. X

Raahh · 17/05/2022 09:08

Thank you both- I feel so deflated by it and like I've let dd2 down. But we were on a hiding to nothing with the appeals panel. We really tried.

Might work out for the best, who knows?

And yy to Scarlett's odd jacket. The wardrobe department really don't seem to like her much!

I was threatened with the sack for having two days off with pregnancy sickness. Shitty boss, NHS in the 1980s.

Raahh · 17/05/2022 13:52

Val is going to 'act' being a pregnant woman?
