Hmm I’m not saying she is personally responsible for Britain’s obesity crisis. I’m not that deluded. I’m saying she’s being rewarded by a publicly funded broadcaster for creating a product which will contribute to it.
You're well within your right to not be happy for this person (Harpreet) to win, but there's no need to make up spurious reasons you know.

Do you feel the same about pub owners, or any business involving alcohol? Objectively speaking alcohol has caused murder, injury, illness, violence etc. Eating chocolate is pretty benign in comparison.

Someone on the previous thread was trying to remember who got fired on an earlier series when they found out he had a business partner. It was Jordan in series 9. I remember Claude calling him a parasite Grin

From memory, I think he didn't own any part of the business and just said it was going to be sorted out later. So perhaps Harpreet's set up was permitted as she is a co-owner.

I don't think expensive cakes are a significant factor in the obesity crisis. It's cheap takeaway food.

I keep hearing adverts for a McDonald's 'Big Tasty' - idly wondering what it was, I googled it and found it's a burger of approx 800 calories - that's without adding 'fries'. & the advert is encouraging people to buy two of them.

🙄

There's a debt crisis in this country too, with people spending more money they have on luxuries.. And if Kathryn won she'll have been rewarded by a publicly funded broadcaster for creating a product which will contribute to it.

Thank you @CornishYarg, that was me! I've just googled and your are right, he was only proffering an equity stake in the business so not the amount required for Shugs to invest. I shall put DHs mind at rest now!
