Just caught the end of this. Am I missing something? Was the premise, ‘we’ve made our house a shit hole, now come and sort it out for us’?

OP posts:

It’s a good programme.
Feels more attainable than other home improvement tv shows

Duracellbunnywannabe · 23/03/2022 09:40

It’s a very paired down version of sort your life out and ITV Nick knowles version. They do clean, no decluttering but they sort out storage solution and do odd DIY projects in a couple of room. It’s done in one day rather than a week.

Yeah, looks like a proper low budget show, not too impressed with Maxine Dwyers presenting skills, she may be a good cleaner, but not very good at showcasing her skills. Won't be in a rush to watch it again.

mum2jakie · 11/04/2022 21:06

What channel is this on?

Rummikub · 12/04/2022 00:35

BBC

I really like it. The presenters seem lovely.

I love Maxine...buff it up!!!Grin
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 17/04/2022 15:49

And I much prefer her to the one who likes grey and Zoflora!

MonkeyPig42a · 05/03/2024 14:57

Clean It, Fix It. 5th March 2024. This family just lived in a complete mess. Nobody seems to have done any housework and to say the daughter was a "professional" is taking it a bit far! It's a waste of our license fee! 😩

Rummikub · 05/03/2024 15:16

Oo when was it on? Same presenters?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/03/2024 15:55

I haven't seen today's one yet, I love it though, Maxine makes me laugh 😂

I'm caught up now, honestly this episode seemed really 'off' imo. Living at home ,one room to clean and can't be arsed to push a hoover round but spends all day at the gym! I cannot imagine for one second she has clients there , you'd turn round and walk straight out!

It also took her all episode to say thank you, she managed to squeeze it in right at the end.

Duracellbunnywannabe · 06/03/2024 14:46

I like it. I watched a lovely one with a man who had been street homeless in the past and clearly didn’t know how to look after his home. He was so happy with the smallish changes they made.

Although like all these kinds of programmes the late series start to get more extreme.

OP, wait until you see Sort your life out.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 06/03/2024 15:11

SYLO was something else last night, what a change!

My thoughts exactly! Quite fun though. Couldn't help wondering about the woman who was working at home using her ironing board as a desk...

I'm finding Tommy Walsh a bit strange in this - I thought he was slurring his speech a bit in today's episode. Maxine is sweet but her presentational skills are not the best IMHO.

Asher though - 😍

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 06/03/2024 17:20

Tommy's really struggling but he has had big health problems and looked very frail for some of the episodes.

Aw...didn't know about Tommy's health issues. He certainly doesn't look well. Poor man.

I'm old enough to remember him from that garden programme with Charlie Dimmock. Can't remember what it was called though..

He has had throat cancer, maybe it has affected his speech.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 08/03/2024 16:57

Today was another can't be arsed to clean! Lazy adult son !

MrsBlondie · 09/03/2024 15:51

Love this show but seriously the filth some of these people live in. No excuse just lazy and disgusting

MonkeyPig42a · 09/03/2024 19:47

Where does the programme find these lazy oiks?

marshmallowfinder · 10/03/2024 14:52

I can't bear the constant mention of 'baking soda'. We don't have that easily available in the UK. Surely she means bicarbonate of soda? I wish they'd say the name correctly as then people know what to buy!

howdyho · 10/03/2024 14:57

Lazy oiks!😂

My adult children say they just don't see the mess and when they finally realise how dirty things are, it's all too overwhelming to start!
And I'm a cleaner!🤦
I love this programme, makes me happy. After working hard cleaning I then watch Maxine doing it, she's so cheerful.

DaBlackCatsAreDaBestCats · 10/03/2024 15:04

I stumbled across an episode some weeks ago. I was horrified that people can be laughing and joking with the presenter whilst living in fucking shitholes full of clutter and filth. How difficult is it to tidy up and sort clean washing from dirty. They all looked like they needed a good bath
