Just discovered this today and I've watched 5 episodes! It's very sickly sweet and southern with people named Dana Sue and Skeeter 🤣 but it's easy watching and I'm hooked! Anyone else?

[Title edited by MNHQ to add spoiler warning]

I'm soooo glad there's a second season! It's easy watching guilty pleasure

LosingMySh1t · 06/02/2022 20:19

I'm saving the second series foe when im alone. I love sickly sweet trash TV like this!

MonicaGellerBing · 06/02/2022 20:25

Yey fellow trashy tv lovers! Can't believe how many episodes I've watched in one go today! Love all the characters even Bill! (Anyone remember him from the American Pie films?!)

I've binged season 2 since Friday. It reminds me of Gilmore Girls without the title characters.

I do get the three teen boys mixed up though. They look so similar.

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 06/02/2022 20:37

I love it, started season 2 today, have read lots of sherryl woods books and they are really good as well

Amandasummers · 09/02/2022 19:09

I’m enjoying this. Very “wholesome” - imagine an entire town wherever just does the right thing and speaks their feelings instead of playing silly games or harbouring petty fueds!

MonicaGellerBing · 15/02/2022 15:10

I'm on season 2 episode 1, I think this might be the most sickly episode yet. Lots of 'baby girls' and the local pastor coming to the hospital to pray 'as a family' and Helen randomly singing in the hospital corridor (cringe!) Still loving it though hahaha

I love it! Found season 2 more religious, lots of praise the Lord! But such an easy watch

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 15/02/2022 15:28

It's 'apple pie' TV but there's definitely a place for it in the world we're currently living in.

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 15/02/2022 21:54

Really enjoying it - am about halfway through season 2. Agree with Gilmore Girls feel but a bit more wholesome.

autienotnaughty · 15/02/2022 22:00

Watched first season and loved it. Loves the coach and maddie. And the three woman's friendship. Easy watching.

WhatICallMyUsername · 20/02/2022 19:51

Does anyone know how old they're actually supposed to be? The 3 principal actresses are 42, 47 and 47. I don't want to put any spoilers but I am finding one of the storylines Hmm

autienotnaughty · 21/02/2022 05:26

No but two of them have kids in mid/late teens so I'd assume 38-42 roughly. I know what yo mean tho

autienotnaughty · 21/02/2022 05:28

The sweetie bracelets scene was a bit cringe 😬 even the instructor looked embarrassed for them.

OutlookStalking · 21/02/2022 05:30

I'm half way through binging season 2.

I did wonder about the actresses ages! They have good income/big houses etc would they have had kids v early on?

Finding season 2 a little bit too much on the "here's a little thing my dad told me/favourite quote/favourite bible verse/trite saying." But good escapism.

WhatICallMyUsername · 21/02/2022 09:54

Going back to the age thing (and trying not to give spoilers away again) I think because of Isaac's storyline they're supposed to be 38. At a push for Maddie but now way with the other two!

I went down a rabbit hole looking at their ages, Carson Rowland who plays Tyler is 24 Grin

HelpINeeedSomebody · 21/02/2022 13:09

Oh it's so sickly sweet I'm struggling with it this season.
I like maddy but she seems to have forgotten about her youngest child or in fact that she's a mother. Thank god for the grandma or the kids would be looking after themselves.
What is up with Dana Sue's makeup it's so harsh it's almost drag queen territory. And Helen just plain annoys me.

I also know what you mean about the speaking in quotes, every conversation seems thoroughly exhausting .

Feel better after getting that off my chest no one I know watches it! I'll finish this season but don't know if I could face a third.

OutlookStalking · 21/02/2022 13:23

I'm onto episode 8 but its a drag now! Im now hyper aware of the "as someone special pnce said to me," "as my mama said," "as x person said..."

Also what's with the breathy almost whisper speaking?!?!?!

I like the characters and am invested but it's irritating!

OutlookStalking · 21/02/2022 13:25

Oh wow episòde 9! I want to discuss spoilers!!!

WhatICallMyUsername · 21/02/2022 14:42

As I don't think there are many of us who actually watch this (!) shall I ask MNHQ to change the title so we can discuss the full series but anyone who wanders in will know it contains spoilers? Is that okay with your @MonicaGellerBing as it's your thread!

Pohtaytoes · 21/02/2022 15:00

I have dropped watching this in season 2, got as far as the second episode, but the whole church and preachy side of it seems far worse in season 2.

OutlookStalking · 21/02/2022 15:03

Definitely! I have finished the season now... it doesn't get better. I am still invested though!!

Springandsummerarecoming · 21/02/2022 15:07

I found it boring. I mainly wanted to see who was in the car crash but I don’t think I’ll be watching season 3, if there is one.

saxendanewbie · 22/02/2022 17:59

Yes that's fine @WhatICallMyUsername

saxendanewbie · 22/02/2022 18:02

I'm struggling now I'm on episode 4 but I haven't watched it for a few days which usually means I won't go back to it. It's just too sickly this season, agree with everything that's been said, maddie never looking after her kids for a start! The girl is only little but maddie never seems to have her, Helen when she sang in the hospital corridor! Omg I nearly died from second hand embarrassment and I just can't believe that those two men would fight over Dana Sue, who yes looks like she's in drag makeup!
