I've only just come across this on iplayer and really enjoying it. The nerd in me is loving the dr who refrences (deliberate or not I see them!) and of course binging David Tennant.

Is the series still on tv or was it only 8 episodes. I'm only on part 4.

We're really enjoying it. Eking it out though, just watched episode 4. There's only 8 episodes but IMDB is showing a second series is planned.

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 16/01/2022 00:02

I've watched them all and became quite obsessed with it. Different from the book, but that doesn't matter. I loved it!

2ducksandI · 16/01/2022 00:04

I loved it and was gutted when I finished all the episodes.

I am too, but I think there's another one being conjured up!
helloisitmeyourelookingfor · 16/01/2022 09:47

I binged watched it -started it on a Sunday afternoon when there was literally nothing on but found myself getting into it very quickly

Girlwhowearsglasses · 16/01/2022 09:49

Brilliant- we all watched together and finished last night. Hope for more

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 16/01/2022 10:08

I thought Passepartout was brilliant. Never seen him before, but I really like him.

Robin233 · 16/01/2022 16:30

Very good

powershowerforanhour · 16/01/2022 18:59

What was the hymn they sang at the Reform Club when they think he's dead and roll up the map?

woodhill · 16/01/2022 20:03

It's simply excellent- so enjoyable

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 16/01/2022 21:06

I'm really enjoying it, but I have questions about tonight's episode:

A) how it’s possible for three people to be lost at sea, washed up on a desert island - and still have not just pristinely white, but crisply ironed shirts.

And

B) how has the red head not got sun burn yet?

Yes, they didn't look very grubby 😀

Because its madey upy.

Loved it!

PickleSarnie · 16/01/2022 21:50

I loved it so much! So much that I even let the massive implausiblity of them always having a massive wardrobe of clothes despite the fact that (a) they get getting their bags knicked/lost and (b) you couldn't just walk into primary for new outfits in those days.

I thought it was their school song but could be wrong
SnowDropMania · 16/01/2022 23:31

I'm enjoying this. I really like the opening credits. One of the best ones I've seen.
I've not read the book, so can't compare it

Pretty much entirely different apart from the basic concept!

I thought tonight’s episode was quite odd, if also enjoyable in that it was just three people talking on a beach for the entire thing, like an episode of Survivor. There is clearly a rule that Passepartout takes his shirt off in every episode. He has really nice hair, and so does Abigail. I spent the episode admiring both their hair. And wondering how they kindled a fire. And why they didn’t strike into the island interior.

Yes, I assumed that was the old school song of Bellamy, Fogg and Fortescue, and presumably of many other club members.

Fl0w3ry · 16/01/2022 23:40

I loved it. I felt sad when I watched the final episode. I really liked the characters.

SnowDropMania · 16/01/2022 23:41

Just saw that Hans zimmer is credited. He did the music for the Crown too which was brilliant

Found it. It sounds like a funeral hymn and rather beautiful. DH commented "oh I haven't heard that in a long time" but couldn't remember where he'd heard it. I hoked out my old hymn book from Sunday school that has most of the psalms and hymns but it isn't in it.

What Doctor Who references? I've missed them!

That's exactly what my dm said
