This was such a huge case when I was younger. Anyone else watching?
I always thought she didnt deliberately kill the baby.

I'm watching. I remember it being a huge case. I didn't know what to think about Matthews injuries. So tragic whatever happened

MrsCardone · 09/01/2022 21:12

Where is this being shown? I remember the case so well. I thought they concluded she DID do it, but didn't intend to? I saw her once sitting outside a cafe on Hampstead High Street and felt chilled to the bone. There was just something about her .

Groovee · 09/01/2022 21:13

I've recorded on plus one.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 09/01/2022 21:14

I’m watching. Was pleased to see her friend refer to her as an au pair rather than nanny

GoodnightGrandma · 09/01/2022 21:14

I watched the original case and thought she did I it.

purpleme12 · 09/01/2022 21:15

There was a programme about this on ITV a couple of months back!

I'll watch this on catch up still

Toddlerteaplease · 09/01/2022 21:16

I thought she'd admitted it, but it was unintentional.

GoodnightGrandma · 09/01/2022 21:18

Did she get guilty in the end, or admit it, but was set free due to the time spent in prison awaiting trial and got a short sentence for admitting it ?

bestbefore · 09/01/2022 21:20

I think it's awful this is all being dragged up again! Wonder if she's participated in the programme?

TheVolturi · 09/01/2022 21:32

At the time I honestly thought they framed her. But from what I'm watching now they're saying she definitely killed him?

ENoeuf · 09/01/2022 21:34

Was this the one where people were really sorry for her? In the UK, thinking she was too young to be in charge and she was innocent?

purpleme12 · 09/01/2022 21:39

Yes
Lovemusic33 · 09/01/2022 21:40

She was found guilty and sentenced to life but late she was released after they decided it was manslaughter and not murder.

I wasn’t very old when it was all over the news but I remember it well, I have watched several documentaries about the case and I have always thought she was innocent.

Lovemusic33 · 09/01/2022 21:42

‘later’

millytint44 · 09/01/2022 21:43

I'm not sure it's trying to present a very balanced view, it seems to be pretty pejorative.

I think the American couple exploited her and she was probably quite passive aggressive during the time she was with them, because they were trying to curtail her freedom when she was off duty.

I don't think anyone will ever know what really happened to baby Matthew.

Chipstick10 · 09/01/2022 21:44

There was another documentary about this a couple of months back snd I was surprised to see how many Americans thought she had been framed. They thought she was innocent. There were many who demonstrated outside the court. Just on her demeanour alone I thought she was as guilty as sin

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2022 21:45

I agree. Is there any need? Why now?
HeckinMiffed · 09/01/2022 21:47

not sure why its being brought up again. Theres been a lot of cases involving babies being killed in the news recently.
I believe she was found guilty but served very little of her sentence.

Its a 3 part story so be interesting to see. The idiots attacking working mums can get to f!

Why not ?
It’s no different to any other death being discussed.
I thought it was only discussions about the Radfords that weren’t allowed on here.

Lovemusic33 · 09/01/2022 21:51

She served 279 days in prison.

TheVolturi · 09/01/2022 21:52

I think the police man that's talking in the red t shirt is rather dramatic. Would the person doing the autopsy really slam the table so hard that the poor dead baby lifted up off the table a few inches? I can't imagine that.

ENoeuf · 09/01/2022 21:53

@purpleme12 thank you , i do remember it and being confused at the time over whether she was innocent

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2022 21:53

@GoodnightGrandma

Because presumably Louise is somewhere getting on with her life? I have no idea if this is allowed to be discussed on here or not. You would have to report the thread to find that out.
refusetobeasheep · 09/01/2022 21:53

i think the thinking on shaken baby syndrome has really moved on , and it would not be assumed now

Bananarama21 · 09/01/2022 21:56

I'm watching this she does have an off demeanour. millytint44 it wasn't a case of curtailing her freedom, the previous family wanted her in at 11 as she was out partying she was let go before she went to the eppans . She would go out partying till half 1 in the morning then wouldn't get up with the children so the parents couldn't go to work that's not a responsible adult. She wanted the lifestyle out there and knew she lost the job she would have to go home.
