Just started watching.

Will try and find out for you.

Arcadia · 06/01/2022 22:16

'So are you in it not?' I think or something like that, suggestion she'll be smuggling stuff in or something.
I didn't really like it, thought it was clichéd.

snottygrot · 06/01/2022 22:19

I'm a nurse who has previously worked in prison
Some of it was very well done but some of it was not accurate at all
Interested to find out the back story of the Lead Officer

'You in it or what?
'Yeah I'm in'
'Right then, game on'.
Just watched back with subtitles!

RonaShona · 06/01/2022 22:31

I've started watching it. I love anything prison related.

I was wondering how accurate it was, seemed a lot of female staff for a male prison and are they really allowed kettles with cords? Would have thought they were a strangulation risk!

TitsInAbsentia · 06/01/2022 22:39

there are a lot of females working male prisons, and vice versa. all fine until it comes to personal searches and such like... plus of course the flattery and inducement in to personal relations...

snottygrot · 06/01/2022 22:40

Yes they have kettles in their cell - I saw more burns than strangulation
Female staff are seen as calming influence
Male more of a threat

Very good.

But what a hard job.

I am afraid I was hoping the poor young lad would kill the sex offenders. How did the lead officer know he would not!

TracyMosby · 06/01/2022 23:03

I enjoyed it.

TitsInAbsentia · 07/01/2022 13:15

New girl had a long walk home, the SO had taken the frog for a walk, gone back to her own place and then returned to the prison whilst she was still wandering around. An SO sleeping in a cell? No. Clearly not going to happen as there would have been another SO taking over from her at shift change and they would have checked why there was still an empty cell.

Other than that was fairly realistic compared to some other prison dramas (although Wentworth will always be my favourite!) so I'm still in.

Georgeskitchen · 07/01/2022 13:19

I love these types of drama. I would like to have been a prison officer.(too old now)😉

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2022 15:31

A new prison drama

Need something after no more wentworth 😢😢

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/01/2022 16:00

Missed it, thank goodness for All 4. Will return once I've seen ep 1.

Happylittlethoughts · 07/01/2022 20:46

Wasn't sure about Episode 1 but it definitely was more steady in following episodes 👍Finishing episode 4 now and really enjoying it !

Janglingkeys · 07/01/2022 22:28

I have worked in male prisons for over 20 years. I love my job and on the whole have a good relationship with the men. I liked the fact that it wasn’t all shouting and screaming. There is a lot of humour in my workplace.
There is no way an SO would have a cell. We book in and out - it would soon be noticed that one of the day shift was still in. And cells are like gold dust - never any spare ones and men are constantly changed cells for a variety of reasons.
It’s a bit slow going - bit confused about the direction it will take - comedy or drama.
I can believe the apple crumble saga though…….little problems can escalate very quickly.

Italiangreyhound · 07/01/2022 22:56

What was with the frog/toad? How would it get in? Why?

Maves · 08/01/2022 00:02

Mmmmm was a bit dry tbf. And mostly not realistic. Was confused with the whole sex offender thing why did she bribe him? Was it because if he had said he didn't Remember he'd have killed him? Was expecting better.

Happylittlethoughts · 08/01/2022 01:35

Def have to suspend your disbelief in places. Overall, it was a good series. Tried to hit home with thought provoking points about how we treat prisoners as a society.
Set up nicely for series 2

Italiangreyhound · 08/01/2022 12:16

Seen them all. Won't give spoilers but it only gets better.

JacquelineCarlyle · 09/01/2022 00:02

I've watched the first 2 episodes - really enjoying it.

HalloumiLovers · 09/01/2022 00:06

I finished the last episode tonight. It reminded me of Ackley Bridge in a lot of ways but was good for a light watch.

Mydogisagentleman · 09/01/2022 12:35

I just watched episode 1. I am astonished that nobody knows about the woman sleeping in a cell. Surely she would be seen coming and going.
I thought it was a bit weak but will watch the next episode

Ikeameatballs · 09/01/2022 22:43

I’m coming to the end of Episode 3 and really enjoying it. Completely unrealistic in parts I’m sure but I like the balance of stories and the comedy elements don’t feel too forced to me. I really like Laura Checkley.
