I loved it too. Loved the whole series but I expected something that wasn't there... I won't say what.. 🤐

I wanted to find out if Trickywoo had puppies after dealing with his personal business in the last series!

Enjoyed it, although the impromptu party at Mrs Pumphrey's was a little bit unbelievable! Looking forward to next series now.

Yes you'd think she would have been a bit put out by them assuming it was OK (even if it was).

I read somewhere that Donald Sinclair didn't like his portrayal as Siegfried & said to Alf Wight(James Herriot) "Alfred, this book is a real test of our friendship."

It sounds as if he might have got him spot on!

I really enjoyed it. Just lovely soothing Sunday evening TV. Perfect.

The war coming oh thats sad, I remember reading the books as a child but don't remember them being set during the war? Unless DM only let me read the ones up to the war. She used to censor what I read after Watership Down traumatised me.

It wasn't an All Creatures Great and Small special, imo it just isn't as good. I did enjoy Herriot but so far from the books. Did fine find the plane 😔

@Hellocatshome he wrote one called vet in a spin, and it was mainly about his RAF training if I recall correctly. The first books were set in the mid-late 30s so I think the shadow of war was looming. Mrs Hall was worrying about 'her boys' bless her. I do love that character and how she's been fleshed out a bit more in this series.

I liked when Siegfried saw Mrs Hall initially all dressed up and was clearly overcome 😂

Have you seen the rest of the series? Somehow I missed it despite being a huge fan, found it and binged the whole lot. Couldn't switch it off

I haven't seen it, no, is it just on normal TV? Don't live in the UK anymore so will have to find it somewhere else I suppose! I've seen the old series but honestly the picture isn't the best.
